Our client is a leading construction group with footprints across Asia and has handled many notable projects. They are currently looking for a Legal Counsel and you will be part of an established legal team in Singapore, with support from the Legal Team based in their HQ.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal analysis and advice to senior management and cross-functional project

teams with regards to identified areas of potential legal risks, opportunities and

compliance with applicable laws;

• Provide legal analysis and advice on commercial and employment law activities

including formation of new entities, corporate law, compliance with policies and

regulations;

• Provide legal guidance and support to ensure all transactions and activities shall meet

company internal policies and standards, and local legal, regulatory and compliance

standards, as well as the applicable laws and regulations;

• Provide case management support for all kinds of disputes, arbitration/litigation/adjudication cases;

• Liaise and coordinate with global head office in carrying out legal function.

• Liaise with and manage external law firms and advisors, including evaluation of external advisers;

• Track developments and trends in regional policies and regulations;

• Provide legal training to internal employees and project teams, and case law;

• Represent company before administrative or quasi-judicial government agencies.

Requirements:

• Possess a Degree in Law. Qualified to practice law in an Asia Pacific jurisdiction

• Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience in an EPC environment

• Familiarity with standard contracts such as FIDIC, PSSCO, REDAS, SIA or PAM

• Broad-based knowledge in policies and regulations in the Southeast Asia region.

• Familiarity with Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and/or Indonesia legal framework will be advantageous

• Has handled large-scale infrastructure, Building and Plant projects

• Experience in Public Private Partnership framework for projects

• Well organized, timely in delivery of work and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision

• A strong team player with good interpersonal, communication and analytical skills

Responsibilities

· Supervise, organize and plan activities to ensure smooth fabrication and construction of structures within the stipulated schedule

· Prepare project progress reports and plan for one week look ahead of activities to be completed

· Redline markup drawings to be done progressively and update engineering

· Review technical drawings and advise engineering of any discrepancies before commencing any fabrication works

· Perform MTO and update progressively to ensure proper control of material procurement and usage

· Ensure that manpower is effectively deployed to deliver the products timely

· Follow up on all fabrication and installation job fit up, welding and inspection

· Understand and ensure compliance in project requirement and scope of work

· Manage and ensure subcontractor performance in line with provided schedule

· Resolve any technical problems or issues faced at the work site

· Attend the daily tool box meeting and convey instructions clearly

Requirements

· Diploma in Engineering/Marine Offshore/ Structural/ Mechanical or equivalent

· Minimum 5 years of experience in Marine Shipyard operations involving structure fabrication supervision works

· Experience in managing a workforce of sub-contractors/workers and directing them in Structure fabrication and installation

· Able to lead/chair daily discussions with sub-contractor supervisors for daily progress updates

· Ability to communicate effectively, coordinate site activities between different trades to achieve structural completion as per planned construction sequence

· Good inter-personal skills and able to interact and resolve issues with client’s site supervision daily

· Computer literacy – MS Excel for reporting

· Clarify and solve problems raised by production

· Coordinate with team members and other discipline
