2. Determining the materials needed: as a formworker, you determine the materials needed to create forms for beams, staircases or foundations. 3. Setting up the forms: as a formworker, you are expected to produce concrete blocks for the project you are working on. You ensure the forms are in the ideal shapes for the project and assist the construction workers in pouring the concrete into the forms.

4. Removing the forms when the concrete dries: after pouring the concrete and allowing it to set, you remove the wood moulding. The wood forms should be carefully removed so that they can be reused on future projects. You also repair or replace damaged forms. 1. Planning

Use blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions to determine the quantity, size, shape, and location of reinforcing rods

2. Preparing

Cut, bend and prepare rebar and mesh for installation using tools like metal shears, hacksaws, and torches

3. Installing

Position and secure reinforcing rods, cables, mesh, or rebar in concrete forms using fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools

4. Hoisting

Organize the hoisting of components by connecting cables and slings to the components and directing crane operators

5. Stressing

After placing post-tensioning systems, stress the tendons to predetermined specifications using hydraulic jacks and pumps

6. Ensuring quality

Ensure the quality of the work performed and that the building has the proper reinforcement

7. Meeting standards

Meet Singapore construction standards and regulations

8. Leadership

Train and lead foreign workers to complete daily tasks together, reasonably arrange the division of labor and assistance of team members, and participate in progress management.

Job Description

Main Duties

• To meet up with students who require intervention. To engage and interact to build rapport with students. To use counselling skills & techniques to encourage discussions of emotions and experiences to understand the educational macro- and micro-system of the students.
• To help identify precisely the underlying issues such as social or emotional disadvantages, discrimination, poverty or trauma, etc. for accurate planning of intervention measures in order to enhance students’ connectedness to school and build resilience.
• To appropriately address concerns or issues faced by students such as but not limited to stress, mental health, and socio-emotional wellbeing. To equip students with coping strategies to manage their concerns and apply them when needed.
• To act as mentors to provide guidance, motivation, emotional support, coaching and role-modelling to students.
• To customize engagement programmes at individual and group level for targeted students with agreement from the relevant stakeholders. To manage administrative load when working with external stakeholders / service providers in engagement of students and/or
• parents.

Examples of an engagement programme may include but not limited to:

• Planning for a bridging programme for long-term absentee to return back to class.
• reflection-based and/or adventure-based activities that will contribute to positive student development and resilience.
• May also include providing an after-school care activities, after curriculum time to give additional engagement for at-risk students such as organizing a competition / game, problem-solving activities, cooking or singing workshop, etc.
• To conduct home visits with school staff, meetings with stakeholders and make referrals where appropriate.
• To ensure proper documentation to record counselling and engagement activities for individual students including summary of cases under his/her charge to be submitted at the end of each week.
• To monitor, follow up and communicate with stakeholders from within the school e.g. form teachers, school leaders, etc. when required.
• Communication with parents and relevant external agencies will be on an invitation basis and/or in the presence of the programme in-charge education officer.
• To share counselling tips with teachers and other stakeholders at selected platforms at least once a term.

Requirements

• Preferably with a degree certification in counselling or equivalent qualification
• Experience in counselling or working with teenagers.

Working hours

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 8:00am to 4:00pm (inclusive of 1hr compulsory lunch break)
• Wednesdays: 9:00am to 4:00pm (inclusive of 1hr compulsory lunch break)
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

About Restorative Care Department:

Restorative Care Department (RCD) was started in 2006, with one Family Resource Centre located within Prison Link Centre (Changi) specializes in serving offenders, ex-offenders and their families through a variety of programmes.

The Family Resource Centre (FRC) offers specialized services to inmates and their families. The objectives are to support inmates and their families facing financial or family-related issues during incarceration and to provide aftercare support for inmates without family support as they transition back into the community.

Responsibilities:

• Provide information and referral services for offenders, ex-offenders, and/or their next of kin
• Conduct risk assessment, social investigation, assessment, case formulation, intervention planning.
• Timely preparation and submission of reports and case recordings.
• Conduct meetings, sessions, workshops and programme to offenders, ex-offenders, and/or their next of kin
• Required to cover office duties at various centres

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work or Degree with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution
• Possess at least two (2) years of experience working in a similar setting (e.g. Social service agencies)
• Comfortable to work with offenders and ex-offenders in Police and Prison settings
• Able to work in a fast-pace and stressful environment.
