It is expected that as a process worker, the job incumbent will sort and distribute donated items according to the guidelines set up to maximize the revenue for The Salvation Army's work.

Key Responsibilities

• Check and process all clothing/toys/bric-a-brac/books/glassware/etc collected are classified as per standard operation procedures
• Ensure items are sorted categorically and distributed efficiently to warehouse for on forwarding to the retail stores.
• Support the execution of the planning and smooth operation of the sorting system and packaging before sending to the warehouse for distribution to the various stores.
• Surrender unclaimed monies or valuables to supervisor who will bring to the attention of the Processing Centre Management.

• Secondary Education
• Physically fit (able to lift 10 to 20 kg of goods)
• Able to stand for long period (4 hours)
• Able to work in non-aircondition environment

Purpose of the Job

As part of the middle management team, upkeep service standard by providing direct service and supervision to Assistant Senior Social Workers and Social Workers under close supervision within the organisation. Build core clinical and general competency among the team. Casework – Engagement & Assessment

• Develop professional and engaged relationship with clients and other key service stakeholders.
• Conduct needs and intake assessment and risk assessment for complex cases by taking into account the integration of a range of information.

Casework – Case Review & Documentations

• Prepare social reports and ensure documentations are in place.
• Develop, maintain and review case notes and documents.

Casework – Goal Setting & Intervention Plans

Required qualifications and experience

• Minimum Bachelor degree in Social Work or Graduate Diploma in Social Work preferably accredited with Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW).

• Knowledge of human behavior and able to work effectively with individuals and groups.
• Min 6-8 years of experience in social service sector with at least 2 years of supervising professional social work staff.
