The Children and Youth Group (CYG) in The Salvation Army Singapore serves hundreds of vulnerable children and youth yearly. In line with our vision to provide a continuum of care to uplift those in need, our services span from preventive services, foster care and residential services to reunification support services for vulnerable children returning to their natural families after being removed due to safety concerns. The Youth Development Centre is one of CYG's services and reaches out to latch-key young people from low to middle income families to guide them towards a more purposeful life, live out their dreams and contribute well to society.

As an outreach centre, the staff and volunteers engage the youth with a variety of sports, music and social activities to impart life skills that will help them build a strong foundation for their future. We run a drop-in centre to provide young people in the community with a safe and conducive place to hang out. We also run youth mental health programmes such as resilience building to help youth thrive. Through our youth mental health programmes we reach out to youth in the community as well as at risk youth in residential care. We also provide supervised access services for vulnerable children and youth.

Further, Youth Development Centre is also an incubator for new services such as youth mental health.

RESPONSIBILITIES

About the job

The Youth Worker (YW) will be responsible for working closely with key stakeholders to plan, organise and implement these programmes which will involve managing volunteers, engaging youth from the community.

You will need to conduct needs and outcome assessments to measure and enhance programme effectiveness and ensure that our programmes are run well.

Other than these programmes, the YW will anchor the running of the drop in centre, including engaging and mentoring children and youth, organising or conducting activities, working with volunteers and partners and conducting youth outreach.

We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference in the youth mental health space, with a "Can Do" spirit, is a creative problem solver and has a passion for making a difference to youth. You should have the special X factor to connect and inspire youth.


Job Responsibilities:

• Work with young people in accordance to YDC approved protocols while maintaining professional and purposeful relationships in order to enable the youth's holistic development.
• Implement and run youth mental health programmes including resilience building groupwork.
• Ensure smooth running of daily operations of YDC, from planning to execution of programmes that will develop youths' mental health coping, social and emotional competencies.
• Be the main liaison person to reach out to, communicate and work with potential stakeholders such as organisations, corporates, vendors and volunteers, to bring in appropriate programmes that meet the needs of our youths.
• To ensure volunteer-initiated programmes align with the different needs of the youths while maintaining the interest of volunteers.
• To engage and harness the support of corporate sponsors and community stakeholders towards the fundraising efforts or initiatives of the Centre and CYG.
• Strategise with the team on how we can effectively reach out to youths who would benefit from the programme via traditional means, partnerships and social media.
• To plan, develop and execute programmes that caters to the physical, emotional, spiritual, educational and social needs and interests of our youths. This includes youth mental health programmes and services.

Diploma or Degree in Psychology, social work or any other relevant discipline from an accredited institution.

As a member of Gracehaven Social Services Team, you are expected to provide effective Case Work Services for children, youth and their families. Responsibilities:

• Schedule, plan and execution of new projects.
• Organizing and motivating a project team (tender to completion).
• Oversee the construction team and planning of project budgetary.
• Manage manpower activity and resource planning.
• Conduct performance assessment for all assigned teams under your care.
• Conduct bi-weekly or monthly (where applicable), management the execution of construction works, including monitoring work progress and quality and progress reports.
• Manage vendors and sub-con for progression of work and assessment of their performance
• Responsible for all the site implementation and completion towards management target, client’s expectation and compliance to authorities’ regulations.
• Responsible for the project quality and safety plan.
• Ensure company ISO and OHSAS requirements are fully implemented on project.
• Coordinating with Authorities, Clients, Consultants and Subcontractors on all project aspects.
• Work closely with Engineering team on any technical issues arising from site and lead the supervision and resolution of work onsite.
• Manage progress claims, payments and cash flow and variation orders.

Requirements:

• Min. Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Possess technical, financial and project management knowledge
• Able to apply knowledge to the situation and train staff
• Lead the project from tender stage and run the job until it is completed
• Good at problem solving and able to identify issues

Responsibilities:

• Team lead for construction of FPSO Hull
• Enforcement of QHSE on site
• Planning detailed schedules with accordance to milestones to be achieved
• Closely work with Planning and Control departments for the level 4 plan with accordance to the sequence of works
• Collaborating with Procurement team on the delivery of equipment, including FAT inspections and receiving the items on a “Just In Time” concept
• Study drawings and implement sub assembly concepts to increase construction efficiency
• Execution of day to day jobs on site with relevance to planned schedule
• Liaising with client daily and attend weekly meetings on keeping them up to date on site progress
• Coordination with external vendor on delivery of their equipment
• Ensure experience transfer between projects, operations and discipline network.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or related engineering disciplines, Diploma holders with relevant experience are welcomed to apply
• Candidates with at least 10 years of relevant experience in the marine & offshore industry
• Able to station overseas in China
• Able to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
