Job Summary:
The Social Worker (SW) will work with the Casework Manager (CM) to assist in providing interventions and programmes and performing community development work. Assist in coordinating case and group work, and community development activities. The candidate will also support community events and perform administrative duties. Ensure that the halfway house Programme meets the mission, objectives and procedures of case management services. Able to pilot and lead new programme/ group work for clients independently.
Key responsibility areas
Casework Management
· Reach out to collect information and conduct assessment of resident's basic needs.
· Coordinate, implement and follow up on case plans and aftercare plans for residents.
· Assist in assessing community needs and the compilation of community resources.
· Liaise with agencies, make service referrals, and assist in developing and implementing programmes.
· Handle assigned administrative duties.
· Oversee and collaborate with the social work associate
Other Ad-hoc duties
- Escort residents for group outings when on duty.
- Perform weekend or Public Holiday duties as rostered.
- Assist in briefing new emplacements on TP house rules and regulations.
- Conduct emplacement interviews.
Experience:
· Between 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience
Some experience in doing family strengthening work
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work/Psychology/ Accredited Social Worker OR Accredited Social Service Practitioner, with approximately 2 years in the field.
Other Requirements:
· Fluent in English, both written and spoken
· Conversational Mandarin to communicate with Chinese-speaking residents.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and basic statistical analysis.
· Strong communications and inter-personal skills
· Able to work well independently or in a team
· Strong organisational and planning skills
· Passion for service
· Comfortable working in a halfway house
