Job Description:

a. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists.

b. Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.

c. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, choping, and storing food before use.

d. Follow and ensure compliance with food safty handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene procedures.

e. Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to management,

h. Follows proper plate presentstion and garnish set up for all dishes.

i. Wash and disinfect kitchen area; set-up and break-down work station; and follow and ensure compliance with sanitation and cleaning procedures.

j. Assists the chef in ensuring that food is prepared and served to the clients on time.

What you will be doing

• Ensure proper portioning of ingredients and materials handling according to menu requirements;
• To cook and standardise food quality as expected;
• Ensure sufficient daily mis-en-place during operations whilst on duty and before going off duty;
• Ensure all kitchen utensils are properly maintained, cleaned and stored in designated areas;
• Ensure total kitchen cleanliness inclusive of utensils, work areas, woks, stoves, chillers, freezers, shelves, etc;
• To report any wastage of food, breakage, etc;
• To report any raw materials required for daily replenishments.
• Assist in accurate food ordering and stocking levels;
• Maintain and upkeep good personal hygiene and sanitation according to food handlers’ requirements as well as high work and safety standards in the workplace;
• Report on time, in proper uniform and grooming;
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time by management.

What we are looking for

• Preferably with 2 years of working experience in the kitchen as food preparation and/or cooking;
• Minimum technical certificate or certificate in any relevant fields;
• Great team player and customer service oriented;
• Possess strong initiative and integrity;
• Willing to learn and adapt to various line positions;
• A valid Basic Food Hygiene certificate is a must;
• Candidates with more years of relevant working experience will be considered for a senior position;
