Job Summary

The Restaurant Cook shall assist the Chef in preparing, cooking, presenting, and executing high-quality dishes to the highest standards and creating amazing dining experiences for all our guests. We are looking to hire a hard-working and efficient Commis to prepare ingredients and dishes for the Sous Chef and assist with various kitchen duties. The Commis’s responsibilities include informing the supervisor of malfunctioning or broken kitchen equipment, unpacking and organizing deliveries, and mopping up kitchen spills to prevent accidents and injuries. You will assist in stock-taking and storage.

To be successful as a Commis, you should demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ensure that all duties are completed promptly. Ultimately, an outstanding Commis should be able to follow all instructions and comply with food health and safety regulations.

Commis’s Responsibilities: -

· Assist supervisors with all tasks necessary to ensure that kitchen operations run smoothly.

· Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, meat, and fruits.

· Preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Sous Chef.

· Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality.

· Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies.

· Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitized. Remove trash and ensure that the trash bin is always clean.

· Plating and presenting meal items as per the Sous Chef's instructions.

· Follow food and beverage safety and hygiene policies and procedures.

· Assist in Kitchen duties as and when needed.
