The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller and managing a team, you will be responsible for the finance function of the main trading company and regional subsidiaries, ensuring monthly management accounts are accurate and prepared on a timely basis along with management reporting. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed on a timely basis. Preparation of annual financial statements and act as the main contact for statutory and internal audits. Ensuring compliance with local regulations. Managing cashflow to ensure suppliers are paid on a timely basis and the credit line submissions for the bank financing facilities. Maintaining banking relationships in conjunction with Treasury. Liaising with Traders, Credit and Legal teams and providing support as required.

Your Profile

To qualify for this role, you must have a Degree in Accountancy with minimum 8 years in a relevant role with prior supervisory experience, ideally within trading or energy industry. We are looking for a meticulous, hands-on, analytical and an experienced Finance Manager who can work well in a team. Prior experience in Navision will be highly advantageous but not compulsory.

The focus of this role is to, in conjunction with the Regional CFO, support Singapore, China, Indonesia and some parts of Europe, to oversee and manage the financial operations within the group

Finance and Business Reporting

• Prepare on an adhoc basis, monthly, quarterly and annual closings leveraging our existing trading and financial systems for data analysis and reporting. Oversee all accounting matters in all subsidiaries within APAC.
• Oversee the consolidation of financial statements from all subsidiaries for the holding company. Ensure that all financial reporting is in accordance with applicable accounting standards, and intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and eliminated in consolidation.
• Able to translate complex financial data including but not limited to trading P&L into accounting world in compliance with regulatory standards (such as Singapore FRS)
• Working in conjunction with the CFO and collaborate with external auditors during consolidated and statutory audits providing justifications;

Business Collaboration & Analysis

• Work closely with various teams within the group including trading, commercial, marketing, operations, trade & treasury and risk teams to ensure understanding of all P&L, costing methods and enhancement of current accounting systems

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CA or CPA qualifications is a must. Experience with reporting under IFRS
• 5-8 years of experience in audit and financial controlling, with expertise in commodity trading;
• Strong experience in monthly & quarterly closings and audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance;
• Strong skills in dealing with systems (for example, ETRM, ERP, reporting tools);
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams;
• Proficient in spoken and writing English & Chinese (due to inherent nature of our business / subsidiary in China and able to communicate with suppliers from time to time)
