• Be a crucial member of the legal department and the go-to advisor for the business team
• Provide legal advice and support to all divisions in the Region to achieve business objectives
• Highlight and manage legal risks and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Provide practical, risk-weighted legal guidance on a wide range of legal matters
• Provide legal support for business development initiatives in the region
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including agreements, procurement contracts and leases
• Help implement and enforce document review and approval process for documents such as customer and supplier contracts, as well as training the business on how best to utilize legal resources
• Keep abreast of and advise on compliance requirements and issues, and help implement policies and procedures for the group’s operations
• Help with management of corporate secretarial function
• Design and facilitate legal and compliance related training to employees

Qualifications & Experience:

• At least five years of legal experience gained from private practice and/ or in-house
• Previous in-house experience working in a multinational company is preferred
• Legal education from a respected law school and qualified to practice in Indonesia
• Growth mindset and is interested in both the technical and commercial aspects of in-house legal practice
• Ability to work independently, with others as part of a team, and across geographic boundaries

• Create leads through various channels such as cold calling, networking, and referrals.
• Identify potential clients and present the products/services according to their needs and requirements.
• Monitor project progress, performance, and issues, and take corrective actions.
• Always display excellent customer service and maintain long-term relationships with clients.

Requirements:

• Diploma and above.
• At least 2 years of B2B sales experience preferably in Corporate Gifts.
• Sales driven with good presentation and negotiation skills.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Legal Manager to spearhead our in-house Legal Counsel needs. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for reading and writing contracts, making sure the company is meeting its legal requirements, assisting on the legal side of fundraises, and coordinating with counterpart legal counsels. Salary range: $6000-7000 (depending on experience)

What You’ll Do

• Advise, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts (including commercial contracts, service agreements, marketing agreements, joint venture agreements and NDAs).
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Protecting utu’s intellectual property.
• Provide legal support for fundraising activities.
• Assist on the legal side of M&A transactions.
• Advise on regulatory matters including employment laws, personal data protection laws, payment services, medical/health laws and regulations.
• Conduct comprehensive research on various legal and regulatory issues.
• Provide legal advice for the company’s operations in various jurisdictions.
• Liaise with external counsel, both domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Experiences & Skills

• Law degree required (LLB/JD or equivalent).
• Called to the Singapore Bar or any Commonwealth country’s Bar.
• At least 4 years of experience as a lawyer or in-house counsel.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proactive with strong organisational skills.
• Previous experience in commercial law or the technology sector will be viewed favourably.
