REQUIREMENT

• Minimum GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ level
• Preferably with Sale Experience
• Bilingual in written and spoken English and Mandarin to liase with mandarin speaking counterparts
• Computer literate
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to co-ordinate administrative & logistic functions
• Possess own car (transport allowance will be provided)

Salary will commensurate with qualification and relevant work experience

Basic Salary + Attractive Commission

Office hours: Mon – Fri (8:30-18:00)

About Us:
We are a leading supplier of premium-quality fruits and vegetables, committed to delivering the freshest produce to our customers across Singapore. This role will be key to managing our import operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and fostering strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and import a wide variety of fruits and vegetables from international markets to meet local demand.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with overseas suppliers, growers, and producers.
• Manage logistics and oversee the import process, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of fresh produce to Singapore.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and seasonal availability to ensure competitive pricing for imported products.
• Work closely with Singapore Customs and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with import regulations, including food safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with local distributors, warehouses, and retail partners to ensure smooth product handling, storage, and distribution.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with international suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and product quality.
• Ensure all import documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin, is accurate and complies with Singaporean import laws.
• Troubleshoot any issues related to the quality, quantity, or delivery of products, working closely with suppliers and logistics partners.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing waste and spoilage.
• Coordinate product inspections to ensure the quality and safety of imported fruits and vegetables.
• Stay updated with the latest food safety and regulatory requirements in Singapore (e.g., Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) standards).
• Develop and implement strategies for sourcing sustainably and ethically, in line with Singapore’s growing focus on sustainability.

Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Agriculture, or related field.
• Proven experience in fruits and vegetables importation, ideally within the food or grocery industry in Singapore.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore’s import regulations, food safety standards, and logistics processes.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Good understanding of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, AVA guidelines) and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• A strong passion for fresh produce and an understanding of Singapore’s food market trends.

Preferred Skills:

• Fluency in Mandarin to liaise with suppliers in key source countries.
• Experience working with both local retailers and foodservice distributors.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and ethical sourcing in the food industry.
