About the team:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Processing of trades and transactions via accounting and custodian systems.
• Reconciling the portfolio and cash held with fund custodians to the accounting records.
• Ensuring timely and accurate NAV calculation on a periodic basis, depending on the funds’ requirements.
• Preparing financial statements and liaise with auditors for year-end audits.
• Responding to client enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborating with other parties, including fund management, custodians and Investor Service team to manage cash flows, valuations, subscriptions and redemptions, dividends and distributions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a MUST
• Proficient in Microsoft office, especially Excel. Candidates with strong knowledge and prior experience in Paxus will be a plus.
• Internship/part-time experience gained in financial intuitions/ CPA firms/ fund services providers/ asset management firms would be highly preferred
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent command in spoken and written English and Mandarin. Ability to communicate in Cantonese will be an advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as a good team player.

You will make your mark as accountant at our Singapore office and play a key role in the financial administration and reporting of Smit Salvage Singapore within the Salvage division and work closely together with Shared Resources in Singapore and Shared Services in Abu Dhabi.

The finance team of Smit Salvage are in these same areas and work closely together. The Singapore team consists of a Finance controller, an Accountant and a Project Controller working from the office onshore and two Shore Coordinators who support the projects in the field, wherever that might be. Together with other Boskalis divisions, certain finance activities are performed by the Shared Resource centre in Singapore as well as the Shared Service Centre in Abu Dhabi.

Your responsibilities as an Accountant are:

• Oversee full set of accounts (AR, AP & GL).
• Prepare monthly reporting packages to Management, including variation analysis.
• Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budget including narratives.
• Prepare periodic and ad-hoc financial analysis for budget control.
• Liaise with tax agent for the preparation and submission of tax return.
• Preparation of annual financial statements.
• Support audit process and liaise with auditors.

Your qualities

Job scope:

Quality of accounting book

• Ensure management and statutory accounting records are maintained in compliance with general accepted Standards and Regulations
• Ensure that the general accounting and financial reporting activities are compliant with the Group core model and within Singapore tax jurisdiction

Reporting – Actuals

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end account closing and reporting
• Prepare monthly financial management reports in software and ensure all financial reporting and consolidation reporting deadlines are met

Reporting – Budget

• Perform periodical forecasting as per request from time to time
• Prepare consolidated forecast reports and analyse the difference compared with previous forecast, as required
• Preparation of Data for Budget Planning of the following year, based on trend analysis and actual planning

Audit, Tax and Compliance

• Assist Group Internal Controls Director and Company Finance Director in maintaining periodical testing and internal controls risk assessments, in order to ensure compliance with Group Internal Controls Procedures as well as Statutory Requirements.
• Lead financial annual audit process for subsidiaries in charge, including preparation of annual accounts according to Singapore FRS and coordination of the whole process
• Handle tax related matters, including GST tax returns and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.

Monitor statutory tax compliance matters

• Prepare annual corporate tax computation of the company, ensure the computation be reviewed by tax consultant and Finance director, monitor the tax filing status

Others

• Intercompany invoicing and reconciliation
• Fixed asset maintenance and control
• Monthly supervision of payments and receivables management with a team of accounting assistants
• Stocks management and analysis with the help of a team of specialists

Requirements:

• Possess Diploma or Accounting Degree from a recognised institution with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience handling full sets of accounts
• Sound knowledge of double entry principle
• Good understanding of Accounting Standards, Tax & GST regulations

Key Responsibilities

As the Cost Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for the costing functions. This includes standard cost amortization, variance analysis, cost summary review and more. You will also review and manage the Accounts Receivable collection, cash application, credit limit, invoice transmission and dispute resolutions. Additionally, assist in distributors and inventory audits, whilst liaising with relevant stakeholders for coordination. Requirements

• Assist to check Market List, Receiving Record, Costing List to ensure the effectiveness of the control system.
• Perform duty as and when required by Director of Finance.
