My client is the investment management arm of a global real estate conglomerate. They are hiring a corporate accountant to handle full set accounts and MAS returns. This is an expansionary headcount. Most notably, their pan-Asian funds provide institutional investors access to a portfolio of commercial & residential real estate investments in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

They are looking for a Corporate Accountant to handle full set of accounts and MAS returns. Preferably someone who displays a positive attitude and will embrace a collaborative culture.

This role is involved in preparation work (it is not a manager/ reviewer role). S/he will be handling month end accounts, preparation of reporting deliverables, including consolidation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare/review monthly accounts, journal entries and supporting schedules
• Prepare and submit quarterly reporting packs/presentations with variance analysis
• Prepare/review payments and billings including inter-company activities and staff claims
• Handle cashflow projections, fixed deposit and bank account admin matters
• Prepare and submit government financial statistical surveys/data and MAS regulatory returns/surveys
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties eg internal and external auditors, corporate and GST tax agents, corporate secretarial agents. This includes managing the annual audit process including preparation of the audited financial statements and schedules required by the auditors and agents
• Provide support to Finance Managers by ensuring timely and accurate financial information
• Assist with ad hoc projects including UAT and implementation of new system initiatives

REQUIREMENTS

• Possess Degree in Accountancy or diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience
• Able to handle full set of accounts
• Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative to meet job objectives and deadlines independently
• Detailed-oriented and highly motivated individual with good problem-solving skills
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Hands-on experience with accounting software preferably Netsuite
• Applicants with audit and commercial experience will be highly preferred

• Perform basic book-keeping

• Responsible for the financial accounting work of subordinate companies, including daily accounting work, vouchers preparation, preparing statements and analysis
• Cooperate with tax tintermediary agencies, responsible for the preparation and review of tax declaration information

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of finance and taxation, more than 3 years of work experience in financial accounting, TMT companies, stable career history, overseas accounting experience is preferred
• Familiar with the basic rules of international tax, experience in GST, CIT, WTX and other tax declaration is preferred;
• Bachelor degree or above, major in finance and economics is preferred; CPA ACCA is preferred;
• Familiar with the use of general financial software, preferably with UFIDA NC experience;
• Good at communication, have strong learning ability, work proactively, have a sense of responsibility, have a certain degree of pressure resistance
• Both English and mandarin Chinese can be used as working languages
• Singaporeans preferred

The Assistant Accountant will work closely with various Finance teams supporting the financial operations/accounting across all divisions and functions, ensuring complete, timely and accurate Group level financial information is provided for decision making to optimise business outcomes. You will report to the Finance Manager, Group Reporting.

• Collaborate with various finance teams in the preparation of Group management reports for Senior Management and Shareholders
• Govern and maintain management reporting hierarchies (profit/cost centres and statistical key figures) and Group management reports
• Leverage on technology and business intelligence solutions to enhance reporting capabilities for decision making and streamline work processes
• Provide support on Group wide initiatives (e.g. SAP S4 Hana implementation)
• Undertake other ad-hoc assignments as required

Ideal Candidate

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
• Recognised Professional Accounting Qualifications, e.g. CA, ACCA, CPA preferred
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in management reporting/financial analysis
• Good knowledge of SAP
• Good MS Excel skills
• Experience working with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Microstrategy) and RPA/programming tools (e.g. Power Automate, VBA, Python) is a plus
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to details with good analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams
