The successful candidate will be required to undertake the following roles and responsibilities:-

• Supervise and handle full set of accounts (GL, AR, AP, Fixed Asset, Inventory);
• Prepare monthly management reports and analysis;
• Prepare year end statutory reporting;
• Draw up annual budget and cash-flow forecast;
• Develop financial models, perform financial due diligence and evaluate potential M&A or investment projects which includes overseeing the deal process, negotiating commercial terms and supporting any other business development;
• Provide guidance to overseas business units in preparation of budgets, analysis and reporting of financial results;
• Prepare and file quarterly GST returns and tax computation;
• Guide and coach internal stakeholders to improve and streamline process workflow, internal controls and compliance; and
• Undertake special projects as and when assigned.

The successful candidate should preferably possess the following:-

• At least a bachelor’s degree with post graduate/ professional qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or Law;
• Strong knowledge and experience in IFRS accounting and reporting is highly valued;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Investment, Finance, Accounting, Tax or Audit;
• Experience with Oracle, Anaplan will be an added advantage.
• Possess strong business acumen and a flair for problem solving, financial modelling, planning and analysis;
• Demonstrate leadership and people management skills;
• Strong interpersonal, communication, written and spoken negotiation skills; and
• Committed and self-driven individual with good stress management.

This is a 2-year fixed term role which can be converted to perm or auto-renewed.

OVERVIEW
The Accountant assists the Finance Manager to perform day to day accounting and finance functions covering all aspects of financial management, financial accounting, budgeting, statutory and internal audit and reporting.

JOB SCOPES

1. Manage financial accounting and reporting functions

• Maintain the accounting system and subsystems, ensure accuracy of data transfer from source systems to accounting system.
• Supervise and review the accounting process for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, General Ledger, Asset Management in accordance with accounting standards and principles.
• Exercise professional judgement to identify and apply accounting treatments to be adopted to meet statutory and internal reporting requirements.
• Perform quarterly close, GST return and prepare financial statements.

1. Management accounting and budgeting

• Present key findings on financial performance and conduct annual budget exercise.
• Perform variance analysis and reporting to support Centres and HQ budget control management.

1. MANAGE external AND INTERNAL audit

• Liaise with external and internal auditors on all audit matters
• Ensure annual statutory audit process is carried out in compliance and on time.
• Organise timely and effective internal audit process to ensure systems and internal control processes integrity, also in the review and implementation of best practices.

1. Manage financial policies and INTERNAL CONTROL processes

• Identify and assess operational and financial risks
• Assist to develop and execute risk management strategies to protect the organization's financial assets.
• Ensure compliance to policies, procedures and processes。

1. Manage STAKEHOLDERS

• Liaise with internal stakeholders on operational matters
• Liaise with statutory bodies and other external consultants for operational, financial matters.
• Liaise with bankers for banking and online banking maintenance matters.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word and Excel) .
• Strong hands-on working knowledge of Accounting Systems and Processes.
• Minimum three years’ experience in maintaining full sets of accounts and reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting standards and GST regulations.
