RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position is for Office of Industry Engagement (OIE).
• Establish an industry engagement governance framework to support the University's engagements, including but not limited to engagement policies and processes, negotiation guidelines, cost-benefit analyses, etc.
• Lead the coordination and enhancement of partnership related processes, such as working with internal administrators such as legal, research and tech transfer office to review and manage partnership and tech commercialization processes.
• Lead the establishment of a university-wide key account and database management system through thorough review of the University's current account management practices while ensuring the requirements and needs of the Office are met.
• Develop strategies that can best enhance SMU's core competitive strengths and key value propositions to industry through close working relationships with all internal stakeholders.

• Plan and organise regular internal stakeholders' updates to keep them abreast on the University's industry engagement priorities and developments.
• Oversee the reporting of OIE's annual budget and forecast review of OIE operations for OIE Director.
• Manage reporting to the University's senior management on Industry engagement activities for OIE Director. Management report will include updates, analysis, recommendations, project expectations, roadmaps, key deliverables, and quantifiable goals.
• Represent OIE, together or in lieu of the Director in high-level meetings, events, and official engagements.

JOB SUMMARY

• The Operational, Technology and Cyber Risk (OTCR) organisation is instrumental in protecting and ensuring the resilience of Standard Chartered Bank’s operations, data, and IT systems by managing operational, technology and cyber risk across the enterprise. Responsibilities

Sales Strategy and Growth

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets, manage P&L, and expand market share in Sinapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other Southeast Asian territories. Identify growth opportunities, create market-entry strategies, and set objectives that align with our sustainability and modular infrastructure focus. Lead complex sales cycles in mission-critical sectors, including data centres, government, healthcare, and commercial industries, leveraging expertise in integrated power protection solutions.g

P&L Management

• Assume full responsibility for the offices’ P&L, including revenue generation, cost control, and profitability. Develop budgets, monitor expenses, and implement strategies to optimize financial performance. Prepare and present P&L reports to management, identifying areas for financial improvement and operational efficiencies.

Regional Leadership and Market Development

• Lead and oversee sales operations in the Singapore office and manage regional sales activities in Malaysia and Indonesia. Establish and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, channel partners, and industry influencers to enhance market positioning. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., project, engineering, product management) to align offerings with regional needs and promote customized power solutions.

Client Relationship Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and strong client satisfaction. Guide clients through the complexities of infrastructure design, installation, and maintenance, positioning the company as a trusted advisor for sustainable power protection solutions. Conduct regular business reviews with clients to identify additional needs and foster long-term partnerships.

Team Development and Leadership

• Build and mentor a high-performing sales team across regional offices to drive productivity, achieve sales goals, and uphold our commitment to excellence. Provide training and development for sales staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Lead by example, working closely with the sales team on quotation creation, submission, negotiation, as well as wining and closing deals.

Sales Forecasting and Reporting

• Monitor and report on sales and financial performance, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to the management. Ensure accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management, and P&L accountability to support strategic planning and resource allocation.

Expansion and Innovation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a strong background in electrical equipment & power solutions sales in data centres will be highly preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing P&L within regional sales operations.
• Excellent knowledge of power protection technologies (e.g., DRUPS, UPS, diesel generators, modular power infrastructure solution).
• Exceptional leadership and people management skills with experience in regional sales operations.
• Strong financial acumen, with the ability to develop and manage budgets and P&L.
• Ability to travel across the region as required.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

• 5+ years of scaled leadership experience, such as managing a sales team of 10+ sales professionals, sales pipeline management experience, and P&L accountability.

• Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technology-related sales or account management experience OR

Responsibilities:

Reports directly to the Managing Director. You are to serve as Qualified Person and manage a team of engineers to ensure safe structural/ geotechnical design and excellent delivery of service to clients.
