Who is the Director, Monetization & Partner Strategy, APAC?

The Director for Monetization & Partner strategy, APAC, will play a critical role in maximizing the value of used or second-hand phones and laptops across new and existing programs across APAC, including Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan. These programs include various product offerings, such as device protection, trade-ins, and upgrades.

This role will be responsible for designing, building, and executing Second-Life strategies suitable to each Geo (Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan) to purchase and liquidate used or second-hand devices (mobile phones and laptops) across multiple channels, including online marketplaces, refurbishment and resale platforms, direct-to-consumer, auction sites, wholesale distribution, and Recycling/Refurbishment Programs and will drive profitability by identifying, negotiating, and managing partnerships with various stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure efficient disposal of handsets and laptops and optimize revenue from device re-sales, liquidation, and/or refurbishments.

What are the key responsibilities?

• Channel Diversification: Identify, establish, and explore partnerships with critical sales channels, including online marketplaces, retail, auction sites, panel of buyers, and direct-to-consumer outlets, to liquidate used phones or laptops.
• Strategic Partnerships: Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with external partners, including resellers, mobile carriers, wholesalers, refurbishment facilities and auction sites.
• Revenue Optimization: Drive the highest possible return on investment (ROI) for every device that passes through the monetization or liquidation process. This will require participating in pricing strategies (forward pricing vs spot pricing), bundling strategies, and ideating promotions.
• Market Analysis: Analyze the market conditions and conduct market research, including pricing trends (price differentiation based on device grading), consumer demand (preferred brands, make and model, condition of devices, and competitor activities).
• Operations Management: Assess and manage operational risks associated with liquidation techniques, including unsold inventory, low resale value, quality issues, market fluctuations, device conditions, and potential regulatory changes.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and track KPIs to measure and report on success against various liquidation techniques, primarily the number of units sold, revenue per device, partner performance, revenue generated, margins, and overall performance against the targeted AOP. Regularly analyze and report on performance, metrics, and other vital data points to senior management. Use data to make informed decisions and drive strategic changes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Continuous interaction with various departments, including Product, Finance, and Information Technology, to ensure adequate support and approvals are obtained before putting plans into execution.
• Maximize and Exploit Technologies: Partner with technology teams to deploy and industrialize technical solutions, including machine learning solutions, to understand trends and past and future performance.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with outsourced vendors, including selecting vendors, negotiating contracts, and monitoring their performance to ensure they meet contractual and service level agreements. Publish weekly reports and track the vendor SLAs to meet Asurion customer and client needs.
• Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage large teams across multiple countries, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and continuous improvement and responsible for all aspects of team management, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation.

The Sales Business Risk Manager directs and oversees front to back risks for the Sales Processes within Transaction Banking (TB) Sales. Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring that there is a framework in place for the timely identification, assessment, mitigation, reporting and escalation of Risk exposures for TB Sales globally. Assist in the identification and escalation of thematic and horizon risks and the implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate those risks. Be the ‘go-to’ person for the business with regards to the escalation of all operational risk-related incidents/queries/events that arise within the country/region.
• Support TB Sales Heads within the country/region in developing high levels of front to back risk awareness and ownership across the business. Provide structured guidance towards improving MCA ratings in the country/region and drive first line ownership of risk.
• Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the Sales Processes Risk function within the country/region, including the proactive management of control-check hubbing, and driving the ongoing ORF rollouts and the rationalization of existing checks for Sales automation. Additionally, drive and support best practice and create efficiencies, including in the areas of EORP logging, data accuracy, standardisation and reduction of TB Group Management Forum packs, issue identification, etc
• Ensure implementation of, and timely delivery against, TB’s ongoing Conduct Plan within TB Sales, working with local/regional business and CFCC and with the Group Cash and Trade Product and TB Risk Heads to ensure alignment and best practice sharing with other businesses.
• Manage the front to back peer review process and prioritization for Sales in country/region. Ensure and conduct the appropriate level of peer review, audit and risk event ripples in country/region to support development of best practice awareness, including, where appropriate to TB teams outside of Sales via the Head of SPM.
• Engage effectively with Group TB OR, Compliance, FCC, and Business and TB Sales Heads to share and drive strategic and governance insights related to risk management. Be the local owner of risk, conduct and supervision communications for TB Sales.
• For Non-hubbed markets: Be Responsible for the implementation and execution of the Control Sample Testing (CST) process, sampling and testing the population of controls to ensure compliance with agreed control standards and facilitating the monitoring/collection of any Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). With the process owner ensure sign off on all new and amendments to existing CST’s and that same are tabled at TB Corporate and FI Sales Management and other governance forums. For Hubbed markets, ensure timely execution of CSTs and other control monitors, assess the CST results through constant engagement with GBS team.
• Conduct regular dialogue with TB’s audit teams to better understand their focus and view of risk issues relevant to Sales. Work with country/region Risk teams and Corporate and FI Sales Heads to avoid audit fails and improve results.
• Provide inputs to the Global Head of TB Corporate and FI Sales, Head of SPM and refinement forums, QPR’s (if applicable) related to risk in the country/region, escalating issues, concerns or events as appropriate. Leverage NFRCs and other relevant risk committees to reinforce risk issues and awareness as relates to Sales in the country/region.
• Own the rollout of relevant Group policies across Sales in the country/region. Interact with policy and process owners, as well as relevant business Risk Head(s) to ensure that what is finally agreed is fit for purpose, and practical to implement.
• Oversee the management of Risk Events in the country, driving the right level of awareness, clarity and transparency with regards to the creation of Risk Events on EORP and the production of Risk root Cause Reports for the country. Tightly govern delivery of all remedial actions to plan
• Within the team/s, challenge processes, procedures and policy where there is a more effective way of doing things.
• Ensure timely closure of action items and early warnings to manage delays.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Director, Global Security – Supply Chain Integrity, the Associate Director, Supply Chain Security is responsible for leading the China/Japan/Asia-PacificRegion implementation and execution of strategic and tactical operations intended to ensure the end-to-end efficient and secure movement of COMPANY products and materials, provide effective supply chain security risk management, and promote engagement and awareness of associated security matters.

POSITION SUMMARY/MISSION

The Director, Global Supply Chain Sustainability is responsible for providing leadership and management of Samsonite’s supply chain sustainability program in support of Our Responsible Journey, the company’s global sustainability strategy. This role will focus on social and environmental topics including but not limited to human rights, climate, and sustainable materials. The role works closely with key internal and external partners, including our sourcing, product development, design, legal, and other teams, as well as with our suppliers and other partners.

This role will be based in Singapore.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The successful candidate will engage cross-functionally to drive and further evolve supply chain sustainability strategy and, importantly, partner on the implementation and delivery of these critical initiatives. The company is seeking an individual who is a skillful translator of a diverse set of topics to our regions and brands and who helps to effectively integrate and embed sustainability into the business, driving progress towards our global sustainability goals.

Strategy

• Partner with our Regional Presidents, Sourcing and Brand leads to provide strategic direction on how to implement the company’s commitments and goals in Our Responsible Journey in our supply chain, build out programs, procedures and governance;
• Maintain and evolve our Sustainable Material Guidance, in partnership with the regions;
• Provide strategic direction for our Global Social Compliance Program, working closely with the Associate Director, Social Compliance, who is responsible for the execution of the Program.

Engagement and Implementation

• Develop and lead supplier engagement program to support the execution and achievement of the company’s sustainability goals (e.g., Human Rights, Scope 3 climate initiatives, Sustainable Material Guidance etc.), in close partnership with the regions;
• Lead Human Rights Due Diligence work, partner with key functions to support internal and external implementation;

Monitoring

• Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of the risks and opportunities related to the environmental and social impacts of the company’s materials sourcing and manufacturing footprint;
• Monitor recent ESG developments and issues potentially affecting our supply chain;
• Monitor regulatory requirements and develop company response (e.g., CSDDD);

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

Experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, sustainability or similar.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in sustainability, with at least 6 years focus on responsible sourcing, supply chain sustainability and/or Human Rights.
