What your days might look like
The Financial Controller will oversee the financial health of our organisation by managing financial reporting, analysis, and accounting processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to manage a team of direct reports. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with international financial standards, optimise financial performance, and contribute to the company's strategic goals.
You'll be accountable for
- Oversee all financial activities and accounting operations including managing A/P, A/R, GL, Revenue recognition and cashflow forecasting
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management and external stakeholders
- Monitor cash flow, forecasting and liquidity across all global entities
- Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to optimise financial performance and drive business growth
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10 finance professionals
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes
- Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for financial improvement
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reports
- Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and long-term plans
- Provide insights and recommendations to support business growth
- Identify and mitigate financial risks
- Develop business processes and policies to strengthen internal controls
What you'll need to bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA, ACA or ACCA, or equivalent certification essential
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a SaaS or technology company
- Proficiency in financial software and Netsuite ERP system
- Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
- Ability to think strategically and contribute to the overall business strategy
- Critical and creative thinker - be able to come up with new best practice processes and solutions to day-to-day challenges
- Experience in a high growth start-up/ scale up with multiple subsidiaries is desirable
