Primary Objective(s) of Position
• Manage key phases of projects such as assembly, testing, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance for the marine, power generation, petroleum, construction and industrial market segments.
• Responsible for product service support related work on both diesel and gas engines.
• Support the design and development of other aspects of projects, when required, including tendering, contract review, design, drawing, scheduling, purchasing, packing and shipment of marine and oil and gas engines, and respective associated propulsion and / or power generation systems, as per customers’ requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform installation audit checks on engine set-ups at site and ensure equipment installations are according to manufacturer guidelines/recommendations, and generate report, as required.
• Perform pre-commissioning, commissioning and sea-trial activities (where applicable) at customer sites (in Singapore or overseas) to ensure proper equipment operation as per equipment manufacturers’ guidelines / customers’ requirements.
• Perform supervision of the assembly and packaging of engine and generator set packages at the workshop, inclusive of inspections and testing, as and when required.
• Configure engine settings and parameters to meet specific requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, software and technical manuals.

• Investigate engine malfunctions, diagnose issues and identify root causes.
• Interpret error codes, schematics, and technical manuals to pinpoint root causes of engine malfunctions.
• Propose and implement effective solutions to resolve problems.
• Supervise the disassembly and reassembly of engines for repairs and overhauls, when required.
• Supervise the replacement of faulty components, bearings, seals and gaskets.
• Calibrate and fine-tune systems for optimal performance.
• Conduct functional tests of repaired or newly installed mechanical and electrical systems.
• Perform dyno / load testing on engines and generator set packages.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities and testing results.
• Generate technical reports and service documentation for customers and internal use.
• Conduct on-site familiarisation training to operators, when required.
• Provide remote or on-site assistance for troubleshooting, technical support and guidance to customers.
• Attend / Conduct engineering and project meetings and on-site inspections both in Singapore and overseas (when required).
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on engines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Other ad hoc tasks as assigned by management.
Person Specifications
• Possess a diploma/degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• At least 2 to 3 years of working experience in related industry.
• Strong understanding of diesel and gas engine principles, components and systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting engine issues.
• Able to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and engineering drawings.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to details.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to travel overseas as and when required.
