Kambara Kisen Co., Ltd., established in 1903 as a coastal shipping entity based in Hiroshima, Japan is the root of Kambara Kisen Singapore Pte. Ltd.
As the main stream business of Kambara Kisen Co., Ltd. is shifted t ocean-going arena, the group started demanding a multinational ship management team which will allow us to render the quality services to esteemed business clients of ours.
Singapore is a premier global hub port, connected to more than 600 ports in over 120 countries, and therefore one of the strongest maritime clusters in the world has been grown here. This beautiful port state with excellent business environment, attracts the best and brightest maritime experts acting in the battle front of shipping industry, and the availability of those personnel assets was the prime motivation engine for us to set up a new core of shipowning and shipmanagement function in this strategic location.

We continue to tackle accelerating safe vessel-operation with particular emphasis on ship-owning business being supported by own nautical/technical experts while securing the confidence of customers and community members. At the same time, we are in tune to protect the safety of the global environment through the safe and environment friendly navigation and equipment used in the modern vessels of ours with the latest sign.
Kambara Kisen Singapore Pte Ltd, established in 2012 was incorporated as an independent shipowning arm of Tsuneishi Group and 3 bulk carriers were added to the owned fleet.
The three vessels in our fleet, all newly constructed since 2021, are equipped with cutting-edge technology and designed to meet the highest environmental standards.
With the increasing reputation and credibility of shipmanagement unit Union Marine Management Services Pte Ltd, they have seen a significant increase in the number of vessels entrusted by third-party vessel owners, bringing the total number of vessels under the management to over 80.
Responsibilities and duties for this position:
・Oversee regional work scheduling and ensure that it is kept in line with company goals and objectives
・Communicate project status to project participants and stakeholders accurately and on time
・Monitor and motivate employees, ensuring that employees have sufficient resources and skills to carry out their duties
・Develop and implement solutions to correct any deviations or issues that may arise
・Establish, develop and maintain positive business relationships with both existing and potential clients
・Identify, communicate and manage all issues and risks affecting the projects
・Monitor and coordinate the work effort of all project participants, including managers, consultants, accountants and ship operators, to ensure that their scope of work is in compliance with the project budget, schedule and development guidelines
・Build strategic relations and partner with key industry players to benefit the business
・Coordinate between various other service providers including ship operators, trading houses and insurance companies
・Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies and tactics to acquire new project opportunities and expand the company's business in the region
・Negotiate with clients, ship operators, and Japan Headquarters
・Expand skillsets and improve on work knowledge by preparing and actively attending the Company's internal workshops and reviews
・Look after the welfare of all employees regardless of race, language or religion
Job Requirements:
・Extensive knowledge in chartering, financing, ship/Crew management, marine insurance management
・Practical experience in sale & purchase of vessels
・Skills in leading a company and managing ship operations
・Excellent communication skills for convincing HQ, clients, and any other related stakeholder
・At least 5 years experience in the same industry
・Proficiency in spoken and written Japanese and English is highly desirable to negotiate with the Japan Headquarters and various stakeholders, including ship management operators
・Ability to spearhead all aspects of staff development and management, including recruitment, training and achievement, to stimulate top-flight team performance
・Ability to implement risk-management techniques to promote organizational stability
・Ability to prioritize work assignments and adapt to changing environments
・Ability to work with knowledge of economic growth, human resources and manage daily operations of the Company
・Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
・Excellent relationship management skills and openness to feedback
・Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
・Excellent project management skills and proven ability to effect change
・Ability to think critally and analytically to perform strategic planning for the Company
