The Ophthalmic Investigation Technologist performs Ophthalmic Investigation procedures and administrative functions in the Electrophysiology Laboratory. The Ophthalmic Investigation Technologist will assist the Supervisor to guide attachment staff or Ophthalmic Technicians from other departments during their learning course in the electrophysiology lab.
Patient Care & Administrative Functions
· Perform ophthalmic investigation procedures in accordance to established standard procedure
· Explain the procedure of the investigative test(s) and inform patients on the charges.
· Provide relevant information and advice to patients’ queries during the ophthalmic investigation procedure
· Ensure the smooth operations at the Investigation Rooms in providing ophthalmic investigation services for patients
· Provide assistance to staff on matters pertaining to Ophthalmic Investigations and handling of difficult patients
· Update and maintain patients’ database records where necessary
· Keep abreast and update staff on changes in the clinic operational policies and procedures
· Liaise with doctors, nurses and internal departments on clarifications on patient matters
Inventory & Maintenance of Equipment
· Perform basic trouble shooting of equipment and report to Supervisor on any abnormalities found in the equipment
· Contact vendor on faulty equipment when needed and follow-up on the progress status.

Job Requirements:
· Diploma or Degree Qualification in Sciences or Health Sciences
· Able to work independently and multi-task
· Display initiative and keenness to learn and improve
· Able to carry out assigned responsibilities
