We are seeking a skilled Diagnostics Technician for our workshop specializing in continental cars. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
• Inspect and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• Follow standard procedures for vehicle inspections and repairs.
• Record diagnostics, repairs, and parts used accurately.
• Participate in risk assessments for new equipment and vehicles.
• Responsible for advising the relevant manager of any factors directly affecting the daily schedule of programmed work.
• To inform the manager of any compromises of company maintenance procedures, or health and safety standards.
• Technical investigations into failed components or vehicle breakdowns.
• Investigate and report on all vehicle major unit failures.
• Establish reasons, trends and make recommendations for improvements to preventative maintenance procedures.
• Carry out physical repairs to vehicles, if necessary.
• Conduct road tests to confirm repairs.
• Train and support workshop mechanics on diagnostic systems.
• Stay updated on new systems and maintenance techniques.
• Report recurring defects and suggest preventative measures.
Requirements:
• Possess Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Technology, Mechatronics or equivalent or a similar Diploma with at least 3 yrs of relevant experience within the automotive diagnostic field.
• Experience as a Diagnostic Technician in an automotive workshop.
• Knowledge of continental car systems and diagnostic tools.
• Possess a valid Class 3 driving license
• Familiar with modern repair techniques and the use of electronic and mechanical diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications in automotive technology or diagnostics are a plus
