Jobscope:

1. Assist team lead in ensuring customers’ requests are promptly resolved, or to liaise with vendors to arrive at a solution
2. Responding to technical support calls/emails from vessel for computer, application and connectivity issues
3. Setting up and installing new computers, network infrastructure (up to L2) and software on board vessels or at shore
4. Maintain network infrastructure drawing for each vessel
5. Remote assistance to vessels upon coordination of timezone
6. Diagnosing and fixing network problems and hardware or software faults
7. Maintaining inventories of hardware and software for each vessel
8. Assist in ensuring prompt quotation, procurement and delivery of equipment to customer premises or vessels
9. Be actively involved in project preparation or solutions to meet customers’ requirements
10. Exposure to other segments of IT ie OT equipment, CCTV, WiFi infrastructure, satellite communications
11. Any other tasks assigned

Requirements:

1. Candidate must be at least physically fit to board vessels (few days per month)
2. Proficient in L1 networking, windows OS and MS office, WiFi networking, network infrastructure, firewall, VLANs, routing
3. Irregular hours at times, including weekends/public holidays, dependent on vessel’s schedule and arrival. Shipboard allowance is provided for vessel attendance.
4. Able to work on own and be responsible to prepare proper documentation for work completion
5. Keen to learn and driven to excel
6. Minimum NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in relevant fields of study

Reporting to the team supervisor, the job scope is as follows:

• Opening and closing of centre

(12.30 pm to 9.30 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 5 pm on weekends)

• Managing the front counter and centre’s hotline

• Performing customer service duties and answering all enquiries

• Assisting clients with registration of programmes and application for assistance schemes

• Performing administrative and clerical duties such as collection of programme fees, data entry, centre maintenance and general housekeeping

• Promoting CDAC programmes and recruiting participants

• Preparing rooms and materials for centre activities

• Following up with attendance for centre activities and calling of absentees

• Preparing incident reports where applicable

• Handling walk-in donations

• Covering duties when necessary
