Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve data solutions within the organisation.
• Create data pipelines focusing on effective data extraction, transformation, loading, and distribution for reporting purposes
• Evaluate and select suitable technologies and tools for data processing and data analysis, based on research and existing solutions within the organisation's frameworks.
• Building scalable, high-performance data models.
• Work with various stakeholders and teams to gather data needs and offer technical guidance.
• Enhancing data systems for efficiency and cost savings in collaboration with the Development team.
• Maintaining data security and meeting compliance standards.
• Applying best practices in systems design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• Expertise on data engineering, database management, data warehousing.
• Possesses a robust foundation in data engineering, with a track record of building expansive data frameworks and systems on the enterprise scale.
• A successful track record of data projects that are successfully implemented and deployed.
• 6 years of Data Engineering experience.
• 1-3 years’ experience with Data Architecture or Solution Architecture.
• Familiar with data integration tools and workflow management systems.
• Experience in Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Unity Catalogue, Azure Data Fetch (ADF)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Senior Vice President, Technical Services to provide actuarial services and analysis to the underwriting, claims, business development, reinsurance and finance managers.
• Introduce best practice actuarial science to the business process including premium rating
• Actuarial monitoring report to monitor portfolio performance on accident year basis
• Technical pricing and rate reviews
• Predictive analytics to assist other departments with decision making
• Develop awareness and understanding of actuarial analysis
• Put in place actuarial best practice
• Guide junior team members and make presentations to senior members of Business Units
• Undertake any other duties as may be assigned.

• Preferably with Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics degree and currently pursuing professional qualifications from the Casualty Actuarial Society/Institute of Actuaries/Institute of Actuaries of Australia
• Should ideally be one to two years from obtaining the professional qualification above

• Knowledge and experience in general insurance actuarial practice especially in areas of premium rating, portfolio monitoring, reserving, risk/financial/capital modelling
• Statistical knowledge
• Good understanding of data, actuarial software and programming languages including analytics and visualisation tools
• Preferably with experience in a consultancy firm or/and general insurance company
• Ideally a minimum of 2 years experience in a general insurance actuarial practice
• Business oriented, able to suggest practical recommendations
