Responsibilities:

• Develop, construct, test and maintain data architectures such as databases, data warehouses and large-scale data processing systems
• Design and develop data pipelines/systems for data modelling, mining and production
• Ensure the data architecture is in place to support routine and ad-hoc requirements of data analytics team, stakeholders and the business
• Leverage on variety of programming languages and data crawling/processing tools to make raw data clean and highly available for use in descriptive and predictive modelling
• Recommend and implement ways to improve data quality, reliability, flexibility and efficiency
• Ensure data assets and data catalogs are organized and stored in an efficient way so that information is easy to access and retrieve
• PL/SQL and SQL Tuning and optimization of newly develop and existing applications

Requirements:

• At least 3 years' working experience in data architecture, data warehousing, data processing, data modelling and ETL/ELT, familiarity with real-time streaming solutions.
• Working experience in Kubernetes-based DevOps practices such as container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices deployment.
• Working experience in database development (Oracle SQL/PLSQL) and familiar with AWS cloud environment

With expertise in Scala, SQL, and Hadoop, to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems to process large datasets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions for data storage, transformation, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Pipeline Development

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Scala and Hadoop frameworks.
• Implement ETL processes for ingesting, transforming, and storing data from various sources.

2. Data Analysis and Query Optimization

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and transformation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in queries and data workflows.

3. Big Data Ecosystem Management

• Manage Hadoop-based data infrastructure, including HDFS, Hive, and related components.
• Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization in a distributed environment.

4. Collaboration and Problem-Solving

5. Automation and Monitoring

6. Documentation and Compliance

Requirement/Skillsets:

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Scala programming and functional programming principles.
• Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and database design.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools (HDFS, Hive, YARN, MapReduce).
• Familiarity with other big data tools like Spark, Kafka, or Flink is a plus.

Problem-Solving:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues.

Communication:

• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, big data technologies, or a similar role
