Key Responsibilities:

• Implement advanced monitoring systems to enhance product quality and yield. Identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to optimize production processes.
• Take charge of addressing and improving abnormal quality issues in manufacturing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions and preventive measures.
• Strengthen internal quality control processes and improve overall capabilities, particularly in mechanical processes such as metal stamping, forging, brazing, die casting, CNC machining, and milling. Drive initiatives aimed at maximizing operational efficiency.
• Lead corrective actions for customer-reported quality issues and communicate preventive solutions to relevant stakeholders.
• Streamline quality inspection planning by integrating automation and advanced technologies whenever possible.
• Promote effective communication and coordination with design, production, and other teams to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Manage task assignments, performance, and development of the quality team, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality engineering, particularly in manufacturing and design quality.
• Proven experience in mechanical processes, including metal stamping, forging, brazing, die casting, CNC machining, milling, and knowledge of tooling and the design/manufacture of fixtures and jigs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and standards.
• Six Sigma certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work abroad in China and Vietnam for at least 10 months per year (includes four round-trip tickets to Singapore annually and separate arrangements for living accommodations).

• Identify requirements and features for semiconductor equipment and create concepts and architecture of new equipment.
• Design mechanical systems which involve the selection and use of motors, actuators, gear drives, pumps, and valves.
• Responsible for design verification and validation testing to ensure compliance with specifications, safety regulations and product requirements.
• Create a detailed Mechanical drawing and apply analysis tools like Fish Bone Diagram and FMEA.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in Die Sorter.
• Familiar with 3D CAD software.

Research by Design (RxD) at the Department of Architecture seeks qualified, interdisciplinary, and inspirational candidates with expertise in creative practice research (research through design, as opposed to research for design or research about design). We seek candidates with expertise in design with foundations in decarbonized & planet-positive futures, warming world futures, social justice, and inclusive futures, with a particular focus on being situated in the tropical geographies of Southeast Asia and the equator. Candidate research should be manifested through a robust portfolio of creative practice outputs and substantiated through forms of peer review and public and societal engagement, with evidence of leading with anticipatory and future-forward design ideas that impact evolving society and the profession. Successful candidates should be actively engaged with urban issues in Asia. They should have interests in developing interdisciplinary research to address pressing challenges to high-density urban environment, especially in Asia. They are strongly encouraged to develop collaborative research in the context of the newly established College of Design and Engineering as well as with industry partners and government agencies within and beyond Singapore.

Successful candidates should also have interests and experience in running urban design and/or planning studios in an interdisciplinary setting. We are especially interested in applicants who are able to deploy the studio as a testbed for questions related to pressing challenges to high-density tropical cities. Successful candidates are also expected to teach core modules related to urban planning and design, physical planning, environmental management, urban economics, and urban infrastructure.

The candidate should possess a Ph.D. degree in Urban Planning and Design or related fields as well as requisite experience and credentials suitable for full-time appointment in NUS. They should (i) demonstrate a proven track record in, or strong potential for, research; (ii) have the ability to teach both studio and core modules of urban planning and design at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and (iii) for the position of professor and associate professor, have strong academic credentials, extensive experience and strong competence in academic leadership and management.
