As a machine learning engineer in the ML Platform team, you will contribute to various aspects of our machine learning infrastructure, including LLM evaluation, compute layer setup, image generation, and large-scale inference. Responsibilities:

• Develop and Optimize LLM Evaluation Pipelines: Design and implement robust and scalable pipelines for evaluating the performance of large language models. Leverage your expertise in Ray to distribute evaluation tasks efficiently.

• Develop an Image Generation Platform: Set up a configurable and scalable image generation platform. Ensure it has the functionality of tools like ComfyUI, but scalable to allow for parallel generation and fine-tuning of new models.
• Build Customization for Inference: Design and develop the infrastructure for large-scale batch and real-time inference using state-of-the-art GenAI models. Integrate observability into system performance, queues, and overall cost into the platform. Build customization to support diverse models, fine-tuning, and different workload priorities.

Requirements:

• Expertise in LLM Evaluation: Strong understanding of LLM evaluation methodologies, metrics, and benchmarks. Experience with evaluating LLMs for various tasks (e.g., text generation, question answering, summarization).
• Proficiency in Distributed Computing: Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Ray or similar technologies for scaling LLM evaluation.
• Solid Python and ML Skills: Strong programming skills in Python and experience with machine learning libraries and tools.
• Kubernetes and Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes. Familiarity with AWS.

The L1 IT Support Engineer (IT ServiceDesk) is accountable for providing a high level of satisfaction among students and staff by providing first-level support for all GESS standard software and hardware. This position entails the diagnosis and assessment of end-users' technical requirements, utilizing sound discernment to promptly address and resolve any issues that may arise.

The engineer's responsibilities encompass the identification, investigation, and resolution of technical issues, as well as the prompt and effective response to support requests from students and staff through in-person, email, and phone interactions. Key Accountabilities

Project Overview

This research project aims to grasp dynamic changes in hotel capital investments and their influences on tourism-related local businesses before, during, and after the pandemic on two geographic scales -- region (Asia-Pacific) and city (Singapore). This aim is outlined by the following three objectives:

• Examining the significance of sustainable development attributes in explaining the spatial distribution of new hotel development projects across selected cities in the Asia-Pacific region;
• Estimating the influences of new hotel development projects on the establishment of tourism-small business enterprises within and around hotel districts in Singapore; and
• Drawing evidence-based policy implications along with specific measures for cities to rebuild and expand the capacity of urban tourism in the Asia-Pacific region and Singapore.

Job Description

The Research Assistant (one-year contract) will undertake the following research activities:

• Meeting with the principal investigator (PI) and team members regularly;
• Supporting the progress of key tasks;
• Collecting and organizing international hotel investment and other urban spatial datasets
• Visualizing multiple urban tourism, transport, environment, and economic attributes on a geographic information system (GIS) platform; &
• Developing hotel location choice and small business birth models
• Exploring new software applications for spatial data analyses.

This Research Assistant position will be arranged based on the Urban Planning & Economic/Environmental Policy Research Team, led by PI Prof. Jin Murakami, with support from the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) Cluster/Green Economy and Sustainability Initiative in SUTD.

Requirements
