Job Scope :

- Assume responsibility for technical assignments involving basic or applied research or the design and development of Electrical hardware products. Includes design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of electromechanical devices, components or systems.

- Devise initial concept of assigned device, component or system and participate in the overall detailed Electrical perspective of product design.

- Creates original hardware, circuits, components, software, processes, and models to prove the feasibility of the design approach being investigated. Inclusive of Electronics and PCBA

- Participate in design review by providing inputs relating to DFM and DFA, etc.

- Prepare and release Engineering drawings/schematics while communicating to local vendors to expedite delivery of design parts and assemblies.

- ECO release of engineering documentation.

- Design of AC/DC power distribution systems including selection of circuit breakers, power supplies, contactors and cabling harnesses. Knowledge of PCBA Design, component selection and trouble shooting.

- Develop, test and document designs

- Develops estimates for products and projects. Power consumption, weight, size and schedule.

- Coordinates with manufacturing during pilot run and first production runs to ensure efficient transition from engineering into production.

- Interface effectively with customer to understand technical requirements and propose quality solutions.

- Possesses good electrical troubleshooting skills, and is able to troubleshoot at customer sites.

- Interfaces effectively with other organization such as Purchasing, Marketing, Service, and Quality Assurance as needed to carry out responsibilities

- Assists engineering management in developing schedules and specifications for new and legacy products.

- Maintains a high level of technical competence and state-of-the-art awareness.

Requirements:

- Degree / Masters in Engineering or requivalent

- 3 – 5 years of relevant experience

- Must possess relevant experience in Semicon Equipment Build

- Good working knowledge of electrical systems including motion, temperature measurement, PID loops, and safety interlock circuits.

- Experience working on dynamic electromechanical system design

- Proficient user of orcad, autocad, pcad, Solidworks or similar 3D CAD Software

- Design knowledge on NFPA, Semi Safety Requirements, and Machine safety.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Good command of written and verbal English

Responsibilities:

Design mould, tooling and test socket solutions based on customer specifications, semiconductor packages, and testing requirements.

Utilize CAD tools (such as CREO, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings.

Ensure designs meet mechanical, thermal, and electrical performance requirements for high-precision semiconductor testing.

Select appropriate materials, tolerances, and manufacturing methods to ensure product durability, precision, and cost-effectiveness.

Able to carry out the R&D of new test socket whenever the market trend is needed.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product Development, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing, to refine designs and ensure compatibility with testing equipment and processes.

Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during prototyping, production, and assembly to resolve any design-related issues.

Engage with customers and vendors to ensure all moulds, tooling and test socket solutions meet functional requirements and industry standards.

Oversee the prototyping phase, ensuring that initial designs are built and tested effectively.

Lead or participate in validation and testing efforts to ensure the tooling and test sockets perform under specified conditions (e.g., temperature, mechanical stress, electrical signals, thermodynamics).

Analyse test data and provide feedback for continuous improvement in design and materials.

Continuously seek to improve design efficiency and product performance, optimizing socket contact interfaces, reducing testing time, and improving signal integrity.

Innovate by introducing new design techniques, materials, or technologies that improve the quality, reliability, and cost of the test sockets and tooling solutions.

Stay up-to-date with the latest semiconductor technologies and testing methodologies to ensure cutting-edge designs.

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all designs, including detailed engineering drawings, materials specifications, and manufacturing processes.

Create user manuals and technical documentation to guide customers and internal teams on the proper usage of tooling and test sockets.

Qualifications:

At least Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

5+ years of experience in mould & tooling design AND test socket design within the semiconductor industry or a related field.

Proven experience in designing test sockets, jigs, fixtures, and other related components for semiconductor testing.

Proficiency in & Hands-on experience with CAD software for mechanical design and simulation (e.g., CREO, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD).

Understanding of semiconductor testing processes and requirements (ATE – Automated Test Equipment).

Strong mechanical design and analytical skills.

Knowledge of materials science, particularly in relation to thermal management, wear resistance, and conductivity in socket designs.

Familiarity with signal integrity, high-speed test interfaces, and electrical characteristics relevant to test socket performance.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex technical challenges.

Strong attention to detail and precision in design and documentation.

Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Familiarity with industry standards for semiconductor testing (JEDEC, EIA, etc.).

Effective communication skills for both internal team coordination and customer interactions.

Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits, manufacturing site inspections, or vendor meetings.

- Responsible of designing the Electrical system required to operate facility projects.

- Ensure smooth and proper execution of projects/contracts

- Supervision of construction works and co-ordinate with client’s representation, consultants and sub-contractors on technical issues

- Ensure quality of work is achieved and compliance of safety regulations

- Report schedule to Project Manager

- Attend site meeting with contractor on co-ordination and resolution of site problems.

- Must have good knowledge of generator electrical installation

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

• Minimum 6 years’ experience working on various communication systems technologies such as fibre-optic transmissions, digital trunked radio, public address and telephony, CCTV surveillance, access management and travel information systems.

• Experience in implementing railway-related projects

We are now looking for a Product Design Engineer, with strong background in Mechanical Engineering to join the Engineering Team. The individual is responsible to prepare and generate detailed engineering work instructions and procedural specifications, provide technical support to sales function, guide and supervise junior product engineers for day to day work order preparation and perform other assigned duties as and when required. Work scope covers all OMS locations across the region.

Individuals with relevant product design experience in Conductor/Pipe Connectors, Wellhead Systems, Valves, Actuators, Choke, and/or Downhole Systems will be highly considered for this role.
