Imperial Global Singapore – NH3-SOFC – Assistant Programme Director

Imperial Global Singapore, Imperial College London’s formal research and innovation entity in Singapore, is seeking an experienced senior postdoctoral research assistant as an Assistant Programme Director for the NH3-SOFC research programme on development of direct ammonia solid oxide fuel cells. This programme represents a new and timely collaboration between the United Kingdom and Singapore and will be based at Imperial Global Singapore (IGS) offices, located on the campus of the National University of Singapore. This senior role will be responsible for leading the coordination of the NH3-SOFC research team, working across materials science, device engineering, electrochemistry, and in collaboration with the Programme Co-Directors based at both IGS and Nanyang Technological University.

The programme aims to develop solid oxide fuel cells that can effectively and efficiently use ammonia directly as a fuel source while maintaining high performance and durability. To overcome challenges related to material compatibility, anode degradation due to nitrification, slow chemical/electrochemical processes, and performance loss, the research will explore new materials, catalysts, and cell designs. There will be two cell types of interest in this programme: i) oxygen-ion and ii) proton-conducting ceramic membrane electrolytes. The project will span the length scales, from materials discovery, including with computational approaches, through mechanical properties and microstructure optimisation to incorporation into short stacks for durability testing.

The Assistant Programme Director will be tasked with leading the coordination of the research team based at IGS, coordinating with the NTU based team in collaboration with the work package leads and contributing to management of the programmes finances and reporting requirements by working closely the IGS Associate Director. In addition, the appointee will be expected to lead an independent programme of research developed in collaboration with the Programme Director.

The Director Marketing for Asia oversees the deployment of the marketing strategy for Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems in his/her region and to ensure the operational follow-up of the projets.

He/she ensures the application of the brand promise in the hotels of his/her perimeter. The Director Marketing works in close collaboration with the operational teams of the region. He/she is in charge of sharing with the owners and the hotel’s General Managers the vision of Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems brands.

Missions and responsibilities

Strategic intelligence and market research

• Follow the evolution of the guests’ behaviors and needs
• Conduct a competitive intelligence on the positioning of competitors (experience and communication)
• Carry out market studies to propose action plans and product evolution.

Definition and adaptation of the multi-channel marketing action plan

• Adaptation of global marketing elements to the local environment by integrating all transversal projects (CSR, loyalty, F&B...)
• Knowing the aspirational targets and current clientele in order to create an adapted marketing action plan and ensure the adequacy of marketing actions with the expectations of customers and prospects
• Choose the appropriate communication channels (advertisements, press, media plan, promotional events)
• Manage and deploy the action plan timeline

Steering the customer experience and communication

• Set up global partners at the local level to deliver a unique in-hotel experience
• Have a brand promise in line with our CSR policy

Advice and support owners and GMs

• Federating our owners and GMs to ensure consistency between communication and in-hotel experience

• Helping to define objectives and performance KPIs;

Managing external partnerships and negotiating contracts

• Select suppliers and service providers for the guest experience and communication: drafting and launching calls for tender

• Develop, deploy and monitor the execution of operational plans.

Education and Experience

• University education at Bachelor degree (e.g.: marketing, communication, marketing management, commercial strategies)

Responsibilities:

• Curious communicator with a strong interest in science and health; a strong understanding of/or experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry is ideal.
• General awareness of the regulatory guidelines for healthcare communications in Singapore.
• Familiar with best-practice integrated marketing communications approach.

• Strong media relationships with Singapore and Singapore-based media. Regional media relationships are a plus.
• Track and monitor project financials (e.g., budget vs. actual) and meet revenue targets.
• Grow a network of industry clients and participates in relevant professional organizations and networking activities that will grow Edelman’s brand recognition and own reputation.
• Display strong presentation skills; confidently contribute to the health team and be a part of a growing portfolio.
• Mentor, coach, and support team members and ensure they are developing skills and abilities through Edelman Learning Institute and other training, including on-the-job training.

Requirements:

• At least 11 years of relevant experience in communications and/or related fields, such as healthcare communications marketing, clinical or teaching, research, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing.
• Superior writing and verbal communications skills, specifically to write to persuade; demonstrated ability to effectively multitask, delegate and manage assignments and accurately evaluate and support other team members.
• Understanding of sector trends, with a focus on Singapore, and the broader Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific region.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
