This role will direct and shape the student experience at Dulwich College (Singapore) in the area of Global Citizenship. Providing students with access to world class learning opportunities via curriculum design, enrichment and global networks in the area of Global Citizenship. This person appointed to this role will work closely with the College and local community (parent, schools, NGO’s, outreach groups) in order to provide opportunities for developing global citizenship attributes with students and raising awareness of the sustainable developmental goals.
As part of the Dulwich College International group, this Directors’ role will ensure participation and co-ordination of events in line with the DCI development plan. This role provides leadership for several teams in the College which includes managing team fundamentals by developing strategies to allow for sustainable growth, diversity of student pathways and world class facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Lead and inspire the Community and Sustainability teams across the College with the goal of DCSG being seen as a centre of excellence in Global Citizenship across South and East Asia and further afield.
· Develop in collaboration with the three school leadership teams alignment of purpose and vision in the area of Global Citizenship.
· Deliver this vision through strategic action planning and evaluation.
· Engaging in innovative and international collaborations with education and industry.
· Drive and inspire the culture and philosophy that we all have a significant part to play in having a positive impact on the world.
· Organise and promote opportunities for students to develop Global Citizenship attributes themselves and within the community.
· Visit classes and support, train, lead, and team teach where necessary to help develop teachers’ skills and provide personalised and relevant development opportunities.
· Lead, deliver and suggest professional development opportunities to develop Global Citizenship at the College.
· Measure impact and plan and implement areas for development in this area.
· Development opportunities for Global Citizenship experiences as part of the CAS and College CCA Programmes.
Key Collaborations
· To be an active participant in the Whole College Directors group contributing to collaborative projects.
· Working closely with the School leadership teams and the outdoor learning leadership to develop opportunities for all students to develop global citizenship skills.
· Work closely with the leaders of the House system in the three schools to develop Global Citizenship as part of this area of the College.
· Develop in collaboration with the Head of Global skills and other curriculum leaders a whole college curriculum in this area.
· Provide liaison with FOD to ensure alignment with the College Community and Charity strategy.
· Liaise with the Marketing, Admissions, Events and CCA Departments on all matters relating to Global Citizenship showcasing to our school community and the wider community thought leadership, student learning and best practice in this area. Liaise with DCI on all Global Citizenship related initiatives as well as initiating pioneering creative projects in the group.
