The AHP Director works in the field of social service management. S/He should have expertise and experience in domains under AHP management to supervise strategic initiatives, corporate governance, resource management, organisation and capability development. S/He develops and reviews frameworks for the organisation's operating guidelines and standards, directs the implementation of corporate policies in accordance with governance regulations and drives improvements to the AHP service delivery and operational efficiency. S/He also oversees manpower planning, as well as the performance and professional development of AHP staff, to ensure the delivery of AHP services in accordance with clinical standards. S/He drives collaborations across organisations and at the sector and/or national levels.
A highly experienced management staff who possesses excellent communication, management and leadership skills, and is able to build and leverage effective relationships with stakeholders, the AHP Director is accountable, decisive and agile in responding to change.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build professional partnerships and collaborations
- Build network of collaborations across agencies to provide cross-agency and division offerings and services.
- Present the organisation's views on professional services and other sector-related issues to influence the national agenda, taking into account current social issues.
- Co-strategise AHP services with other agencies, considering the different agendas, directions and operating models.
Drive client care and service excellence
- Lead the development of new AHP programmes and initiatives.
- Drive quality improvement projects to enhance clinical innovation, programmes and evidence-based practices.
- Drive improvements in client outcomes and satisfaction.
- Oversee the evaluation of AHP services provided by the organisation.
- Drive strategic direction for key professional research areas.
Maintain operational efficiency in line with strategic objectives
- Drive the development of operational strategies, delivery structures, policies and processes for AHP service delivery.
- Provide recommendations to the board and management team on professional issues, practices and policy changes.
- Plan goals and strategic focus for AHP services, in consultation with the board and management team.
- Collaborate with other departments or functions to set the organisational directions.
- Strategise operations of the department for performance efficiency and effectivenes.
- Develop framework for service standards, performance indicators and operating guidelines for the department.
- Determine priority AHP service areas for the department.
Manage resources
- Strategise the deployment of AHP manpower resources to fulfil the needs of the organisation.
- Approve funding proposals for the delivery of AHP services.
- Lead manpower and succession planning in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Drive staff well-being and engagement activities.
- Drive performance of the department and progress in meeting key performance indicators.
- Provide direction on the staff recruitment, selection, assessment and retention strategies.
- Oversee the budget of the department.
- Approve allocation of resources to each cluster or team, taking into account competing priorities of the organisation and department.
- Develop infrastructure and plan other resources to fulfil the present and future needs of the department.
Develop organisational capability for service delivery
- Drive professional development for the department.
- Set the directions for capability development initiatives.
Demonstrate corporate governance
- Drive the AHP audit framework to ensure compliance with process and policies.
- Set the direction for AHP governance framework to ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations for the organisation.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the risk management framework.
- Lead business continuity planning in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work or Speech & Language Therapy recognised by the relevant local professional associations.
- Post-Graduate qualifications in relevant fields of study, e.g. social services, healthcare, professional specialisations or management.
OTHER INFORMATION
- Minimum 12 years of experience in AHP clinical practice and/or management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in management role within social service or healthcare sectors.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in AHP clinical supervision.
- Registration with relevant professional licensing or accreditation board.
