Our team works closely with creative and prolific engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to human-robot interactions. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

In this role, you will drive hardware and software collaboration between the software and hardware engineering team, and research teams across the company and the device hardware/software groups. You will define custom software and hardware that brings to life key features that distinguish our first-party robots.

Additionally, you will work cross-functionally to assess and select the most critical problems to be solved through custom platforms, build multi-year roadmaps that intersect our long-term robot strategy, and secure executive support. You will ensure each product has a clear and approved path into a robot, and drive internal stakeholder and partner engagements necessary for the on-time launch of the product.

We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with robots faster, seamless, and more powerful. Key Responsibilities

• Define differentiated and compelling robot solutions and Roadmap that leverage dC’s Hardware, Software, and Machine Learning capabilities.
• Influence, inspire, and lead a broad team across Architecture, Software, IC design, Operations, and Product Management.
• Collaborate with advanced research to create true differentiated experiences in first-party and third-party devices.
• Evaluate new applications, use cases, proofs-of-concept, technologies and standards, and advocate for/against adoption based on system-level considerations.
• Build business metrics into the overall product plan.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with product management and development at a robotics company.
• Experience with areas of robots, sensors, and communications.
• Experience with cross-functional teams (e.g., Hardware/Software/Product Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience defining and launching products for robots or sensor products.
• Expertise with robot hardware development lifecycles and original device manufacturer (ODM)/CM working models.
• 1 – 2 years Professionally as an Engineer/Software Engineer with logistics experience.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to guide initiatives internally, externally, as well as with executive management.

Job Description

· Matters related to donations, e.g. obtain information from donors / team members, data entry of donor particulars, and issuance of tax deduction receipts / thank you letters to donors.

· Matters related to grants / project funding applications and monitoring, e.g. monitoring of usage and balance, regular updates and providing information to team members and donors.

Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking for a Manager/Assistant Manager, to be part of our R&D team, to strive towards our Mission in establishing Singapore as a leading global maritime research centre of excellence in Next Generation Port, Smart Shipping, and Green Technologies.

You will support the Deputy Executive Director and work with a team of R&D managers to strengthen R&D collaborations between our maritime industry and academia partners.

The key responsibilities will include:

Strategy Planning

· Map out latest developments and carry out gap analyses in science and technologies relevant to maritime domain, and identify new emerging areas for Singapore’s maritime strategic interests;

· Develop strategies, initiatives and programmes for the translation, deployment, commercialisation, and internationalisation of maritime R&D through engaging government agencies, Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), Research Institutes (RIs), maritime companies and other relevant stakeholders

Initiatives and Programmes

· Plan and implement R&D programs and initiatives;

· Evaluate R&D proposals submitted or led by IHLs/RIs;

· Oversee and manage performances of maritime Centres of Excellence and Programme Partners;

· Manage awarded projects and budgets, including variations to budget/ project duration/ project-lead, collation of reports, and review of completed projects.

Engagement

· Engage potential overseas IHLs/RIs to identify synergies, coordinate maritime R&D collaborations, and facilitate multilateral R&D engagements for impactful joint initiatives.

· Engage companies in the maritime industry to understand their technology and business needs, partnering with key stakeholders to showcase local R&D capabilities, and facilitating research opportunities by harmonizing industry needs with local R&D capabilities;

· Drive partnerships between the research ecosystem and industry, and to catalyse technology commercialisation, focusing on industry collaboration projects and translation platforms in the maritime domain

· Plan and organise engagement visits to project partners

Other Duties:

· Oversee R&D processes to ensure compliance with established funding policies and procedures;

· Manage internal R&D capability development and resourcing;

· Represent SMI in R&D matters, when required or any other ad hoc duties assigned.

Qualification and Experience

a. Background in Computer, science and engineering fields with 3 years of relevant working experience

b. Experience in R&D strategy formulation, technology fore-sighting / road mapping, technology translation, and/or good working knowledge of the R&D landscape in Singapore.

c. Experience with grant governance and administration e.g. funding guidelines or compliance requirements;

d. Strong interest in applied science and technology R&D and research community engagement

Skills

About the Role

To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our Lifelong Education & Training (LET) unit as Manager/Assistant Manager, Customer Experience.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director (LET), the incumbent shall play an important role in ensuring a positive and rewarding user experience for our customers, both online and in-person.

This role is offered on a 3-year renewable contract basis in the first instance, with the prospect of a regular open employment contract thereafter subject to satisfactory job performance during the first 3 years.
