We are hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to be a part of our Behind The Ear (BTE) Development team.

What you will do

Design Engineer for new full BTE Hearing Aid projects:

• Design, develop and validate BTE Hearing Aids
• Implement new technologies or concepts into BTE Hearing Aid design
• Utilize various tools of specialization (CREO/ DFM/ DFMEA/ Tolerance Analysis/ Simulation etc.) to design, validate and improve existing designs
• Create and maintain BOM

Design Engineer for new Forefront projects:

• Lead forefront projects to ensure enhancement of technology for future hearing aid generations
• Perform forefront ideas/concepts with suppliers and/or Institutions
• Analyze competitor's product to learn good practices/design

Product Maintenance and support:

• Performs technical analysis related to process/design problems
• Supervise and follow up on support activities (Trial runs, FA approval, etc.) for timely processing of ECRs/ECOs

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 2-5 years of relevant working experience designing plastic/metal/rubber parts in product design
• Experience in Tolerance Analysis, DFM and DFMEA

This role will lead the design vision and strategy across all products, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering seamless user experience. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the design culture, mentoring the design team, and working closely with product and engineering leaders to drive product strategy.

Design Execution & Delivery:

• Oversee the design process from initial concept to execution, ensuring designs align with user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
• Conduct regular design reviews to ensure deliverables align with product strategy and maintain a high standard of execution.

Design Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage the design team, conducting performance reviews and creating personal development plans to cultivate a high-performance, collaborative environment.
• Establish and promote efficient design processes, best practices, and workflows, ensuring consistent, high-quality output across all projects.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define and execute product strategies, roadmaps, and user experience goals.

Design & Research Operations:

• Maintain and enhance a unified design system to ensure consistency across products and touchpoints.
• Set up systems for gathering and analyzing customer feedback (e.g., centralized research repository, user testing, automated surveys) to inform design decisions.
• Streamline workflows and optimize research processes to continuously improve design operations and delivery efficiency

End-to-End Customer Experience Strategy:

• Develop and refine the customer journey across all touchpoints to provide a cohesive and compelling experience. Guide the design and implementation of comprehensive marketing materials (website, presentations, brochures, newsletters, social media posts, etc).
• · Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to define consistent product messaging, positioning, and branding, ensuring alignment with the company's brand strategy and business objectives across all customer-facing channels.
• Drive market research initiatives to inform content strategies and marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with target audience needs, competitive landscape, and emerging industry trends
• Utilize data driven insights to refine product messaging and increase audience engagement by establishing or enhancing performance tracking systems for relevant channels.
• Source and manage vendors for executing product marketing, content creation, and other design-related deliverables, ensuring they meet the standards of the project and align with overall strategy.
• Provide thought leadership on how design plays a central role in shaping the company’s brand values and customer experience, establishing the company as a design-forward brand and product in the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in one or more of the following: computer science, arts, design, or a transferrable degree
• 8+ years of experience in product/UX design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams of designers
• Least 3 years experience in sustainability-related software development
• Proven track record of leading design projects, driving user-centered design, and fostering transformation
• Experience with design systems and ensuring consistency across large-scale digital products
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and product
• Expertise in user research, design thinking, and translating insights into actionable design solutions
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and how design integrates into agile workflows

Your Role

• Work closely with a team of BIM Modellers in the design and coordination works
• Responsible for preparing construction drawings including shop drawings submissions and approvals.
• Supervise work progress on site, and liaise closely with consultants, sub-contractors and operation team
• Involved in tendering work

The Requirements

• Degree in Architecture with minimum 3 years’ relevant experience with a main construction firm
• Be able to read and understand construction drawings

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning, conceptualizing, and creating mechanical designs for electronics and power electronics products.
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using Siemens NX.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to complete design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
• Work with vendors and contractors efficiently to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Conduct thermal simulation and analysis using industrial software for development.
• Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration, including 3D printing.
• Develop prototype testing processes, and perform testing and verification of new designs.
• Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
• Manage BOM creation and maintenance within the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
• Ensure the project timeline is met and the project stays within budget.

Qualifications & Competences

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Sound knowledge of GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
• Extensive experience using CAD software such as Siemens NX, Creo, or similar.
• Familiar with state-of-the-art 3D printing technology for prototyping purpose.
• Experience and knowledge of Industrial Design (ID) would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) would be an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience with special plastic molding techniques, especially overmolding or ultrasonic welding, would be an advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support hardware developers on board schematic capture fulfilling design requirements.
• Responsibility for PCB layout in Cadence Allegro.
• Manage the layout design review prior to design release.
• Prepare and release all PCB documentation, and ensure the project timeline is met.
• CAD library administration including symbol, footprint generation and database administration.
• Creation of components’ and PCBAs’ 3D models and liaising with Mechanical Design Engineers on design constraints.
• Liaise with PCB manufacturers to clarify design requirements and resolve problem encountered.
• Liaise with Process Engineers of the product factory to clarify design requirements and resolve problems encountered during PCB assemblies.

Qualifications & Competences

• Minimum Degree/ Diploma in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering with 5 years working experiences in PCB layout design
• Knowledge in Cadence Allegro, Altium or any other electronics design software
• Experience in high speed, mixed signal, power and RF board design would be an advantage
• Sound knowledge of IPC-2221
• Good interpersonal skills to work with team members
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and efficiently
