Job Description

The main objective of the department is to assist the CRO’s Office in the management of MC Branch offices and subsidiaries in the Asia-Oceania region, of its related activities and support our senior executives in our head office in Tokyo on the aspect of internal legal services.

In doing so, you will collaborate deeply with our colleagues in our head office in Tokyo, as well as our branch offices and subsidiaries in the Asia-Oceania region. Building and developing networks with the local counterparts and government authorities where necessary. You are expected to support by providing sound legal advice for branch offices and subsidiaries in Asia-Oceania region, in addition to the management of corporate compliance. The roles include but not limited to the followings:

• To review, comment on, modify and/or draft contracts and/or agreements which includes, but not limited to, NDAs, service agreements, consultant agreements, sale and purchase agreements, lease agreements, employment contracts, secondment agreements, charterparties, ISDA Master Agreements and their Schedules and Confirmations, amendment agreements, and/or parent company guarantees.
• To conduct legal research and give legal advice to Mitsubishi Corporation and its group companies in Asia (our office covers 13 south-east and south-west Asian countries) which includes advice on companies law, commercial law, labor law, insolvency law, competition law, anti-bribery law, law on export controls and personal data protection law.
• To handle claims and/or legal disputes.
• To conduct internal investigations on compliance related matters and write reports in Japanese to headquarters of Mitsubishi Corporation in Tokyo (“Tokyo HQ”).
• To conduct seminars on legal, compliance, general administration and/or sustainability & CSR related topics (in English and/or Japanese).
• To keep updated as to important legal, compliance and/or sustainability & CSR related information including changes in important laws and regulations in Asia.
• To share legal and/or compliance related information with Tokyo HQ and/or Mitsubishi Corporation’s group companies in Asia.
• To draft or review internal rules of Mitsubishi Corporation’s group companies in Asia-Oceania region.
• To implement any compliance related program.
• To collect law firms’ information and keeping good relationship with law firms in Asia-Oceania region.
• To closely co-work with Tokyo HQ in connection with legal, compliance, general administration, public relations and/or sustainability & CSR related matters.
• Any other legal, compliance, general administration, public relations and/or sustainability & CSR related matters assigned by Department Head of Regional Legal & General Affairs Department.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies or equivalent
• Basic knowledge on companies law, commercial law, labor law, insolvency law, competition law and anti-bribery law under English and/or US laws
• High proficiency in English language and Japanese language (JLPT Level N1 or ability to speak, read and write at business level) to communicate effectively through phone calls, emails and/or meetings with the head offices in Tokyo, as well as both local and expatriate staff in the branch offices and subsidiary companies
• Skills to create and present materials both in Japanese and English to communicate effectively with counterparties
• More than 2-year experience in abovementioned requirements

• Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ organizational structure, each users’ role, and day-to-day function
• Act as consultants and problem solvers. CSM’s will go the extra mile to understand the pain points in our users’ existing workflow, then strategize and train clients on how to reach solutions and desired outcomes by using Preqin products
• Discover ongoing opportunities to weave in Preqin’s products/services into our clients’ daily workflow
• Grow customer lifetime value by proactively engaging clients and serving as their advocate internally
• Nurture relationships with strategic accounts; drive ongoing education and continued value of our products and services. In-depth understanding of your Book of Business and how to provide value-added solutions
• Constantly fostering customer centricity within the Sales team and wider business
• Proactively and empathetically engage clients at risk, ensuring urgent client issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Discovering trends for churn, optimizing processes for danger accounts moving forward
• Collaborate with other business units (product, strategy, marketing etc.) to empower the overall client experience and streamline all client success efforts/processes
• Building strong relationships with your clients and help source testimonials, referrals, etc.

You are a good fit if:

• Minimum of 1.5 years' experience in Client Success or customer facing roles in the finance, SaaS, tech or related industries
• Must have a “Client-first” attitude
• Experience using Excel, Salesforce and/or other CRM tools is desirable
• Strong interpersonal communication and listening skills; comfortable on phone
• Comfortable travelling to visit clients within your remit
• Must have a can-do and problem-solving mentality
• Views existing friction points in the product and customer journey as opportunities for improvement

Overview

• To be responsible for managing day-to-to-today activities in treasury and corporate functions to meet the financial and regulatory obligations of the group.
• To assist the Group in audit and accounts functions.

Responsibilities

Treasury

• To perform a broad range of treasury functions which includes cash management; bank loan management including rollovers, drawdown and compliance.
• To manage intercompany loans.
• To maintain & update all relevant banking records which include maintaining bank account Master Database, updating of consolidated report of banking facilities / charges and utilization.
• In charge of opening and maintenance of bank accounts, internet banking and application of bank facilities.
• To support business stakeholders in FX and trade financing matters.
• To identify business and market opportunities and work closely with banks for new funding scheme and evaluate current scheme for improvement.
• To coordinate with internal stakeholders on Tax compliance requests such as FATCA.
• To prepare weekly cash flow consolidation, consisting of short- and medium-term requirements.

Corporate

• To assist in the preparation of directors' and shareholders' resolutions.
• To assist in ensuring filing compliance in accordance with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.

Accounting and Audit

• To support audit related matters including preparation of bank and directors’ confirmations.
• To assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable financial reporting standards and group guidelines.
• To assist in the review of payments and receipts.

Others

• Establish, develop, and maintain relationship with key internal and external stakeholders by providing high level support and engagement and maintain consistent strong operational relationships.
• To work with Legal Department on Banks’ Letter of Offer and negotiate terms and conditions with our banks.
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned.
