JOB OVERVIEW

The Driver in the calibration industry is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of calibration equipment, tools, and materials between the company, client sites, and other designated locations. The role ensures that all equipment is handled carefully, delivered in optimal condition, and supports the logistics and operational needs of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Transportation Duties:

• Safely transport calibration tools, testing equipment, and documentation to and from client locations or labs.
• Ensure timely pickups and deliveries as per the company’s schedule.

2. Equipment Handling:

• Load and unload calibration equipment with care to avoid damage.
• Verify the condition of equipment during pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary client signatures.

3. Vehicle Maintenance:

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and cleanliness.
• Report any vehicle issues or necessary repairs promptly.
• Ensure compliance with vehicle maintenance schedules, such as oil changes and tire rotations.

4. Compliance and Safety:

• Adhere to local traffic laws and regulations.
• Follow company protocols for the secure transportation of sensitive or high-value calibration equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

5. Customer Interaction:

• Act as the company representative during deliveries, maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery schedules or delays.

6. Support Operational Tasks:

• Assist the calibration team with basic logistical or operational support as needed.
• Maintain proper documentation of inventory and deliveries in coordination with the logistics team.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations.
• Ability to handle sensitive and heavy equipment safely. Equipment is up to 20kg.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic organizational and documentation skills.
• Class 3 (Manual) License
