Job Purpose:

Responsible for planning, developing, delivering and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programmes and instructions for special needs students in both self-contained and integrated settings in consultation with other school personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

Implement and monitor effective teaching & learning pedagogies, intervention strategies for students with Special Education Needs (SEN)
Design and implement valid and reliable modes of assessment to evaluate students’ progress and development.
Identify and design support structures to students with SEN
Work with school leaders and management team to plan and implement school-wide educational and recreational programmes
Collaborate and consult with allied professionals, parents/caregivers and external agencies to ensure quality support and well-being of students
Responsible for designing, assessing and reviewing student-centric lessons with engaging approaches to accommodate individual learning styles
Advocate to Heads of Department appropriate instructional learning resources to value add to students’ learning
Review and reinforce learning activities using lesson plans and teaching strategies to help students to master concepts and skills
Implement the use of information technology in lesson preparation and teaching to engage learners
Research and keep abreast of up-to-date subject knowledge and design teaching resources in professional learning teams
Supervise students and manage pupil behaviours in the classroom and on school premises to inculcate school values and enforce discipline
Document concerns of students to facilitate problem solving with parents and professional support staff
Conduct Parent-Teacher Conferencing to discuss students’ strengths, weaknesses and identify areas of focus to support IEP goals and transition
Provide information to parents for home-school communications to support students’ progress
Make home visits for students with high support needs and craft intervention strategies to meet student social and emotional needs
Establish work plan priorities to meet school strategic thrusts
Actively involved in staff meetings, co-curricular activities, educational conferences, and school programs.
Participate in parents' evenings and school-wide training events to promote home-school partnership.
Participate in organizing school events, including sporting events, learning journey and other excursions like camping trips and educational tours

Job Requirements:

Diploma/ Degree from recognised Institutions with GCE ‘O’ level credits in English and Mathematics
Prior experience with Students with Mid Intellectual Disabilities (MID) is preferred
Specific subject knowledge, knowledge in special needs education and behaviour modification, Microsoft office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
Interpersonal skills, classroom management skills, takes Initiative, effective communication Strong in verbal and written English

Responsibities

Support the activities of special needs students and/or child in the Centre.
Support and supervise the student's activities in the Centre and engage them actively during the SCC operating hours.
Assist to upkeep and maintain the SCC facility.
Support and work with the Centre Supervisor for the smooth operations of the Centre
Assist the Supervisor and management in meeting the student enrolment targets and profit goals.
Support and help the children in their SPED academic, social, personal hygiene, music, art and motor skills to promote the students’ physical, mental and social development.
Assist and work with the Supervisor to upkeep and maintain the facility.
Conduct weekly inspection on the premise and ensure that that it is compliance with existing APSN/regulatory (MSF) requirements
Assist and recommend instructional materials and teaching aids needed to facilitate the teaching of our students
Ensure that food are administer to the students in accordance to proper food handling and hygiene practice in accordance to HACCP requirements.
Work with the Centre Supervisor and ensure the safety and well-being of each individual child.
Observe children to detect signs of ill health or emotional disturbance and to evaluate progress.
Maintain an appropriate atmosphere of safety, learning, and fun.
Assist the Centre Supervisor on student enrolment, expense, manpower, operations and etc.
Engage the children under the Centre care and perform classroom-teaching duties in accordance to the curriculum developed by APSN
Supervise the student’s activities in the Centre and engage them actively.
Work with the Centre Supervisor and reporting to school leaders on SCC matters, according to the requirements of Ministry of Education.
Work with parents/teaching staff regarding student behavioral or learning problems, and recommends methods of modifying inappropriate behaviour and encouraging learning experiences.

Requirements

Min Diploma with 1-3 years of relevant working experience in the social service sector. Entry level candidates are welcome to apply.
Preferably candidate with Diploma in community and social services (or any other equivalent or higher certification)
Applicants with WSQ certification is of an added advantage (WSQ Introductory Student Care Centre)
Certification in First Aid (CPR & AED) and WSQ Basic Food Hygiene is of an added advantage
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Purpose:

You shall be responsible for the speech language programme for students &/or trainees with oral communication challenges including evaluation of all students &/or trainees with suspected or identified communication disorders and the development, management and coordination of a speech and language programme, including difficulty in swallowing.

Key Responsibilities:

Consultation

Provide professional inputs to support understanding of clients’ speech, language and communication difficulties to teachers, parents/caregivers, professional staff, administrators and the public.
Participate in collaborative problem-solving to assist teachers, parents / caregivers, professional staff and administrators with practical ideas and recommendations in the setting of goals, selection and design of intervention programs, etc.

Assessment

Provide screening, identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services for students/trainees with speech and language disorders.
Measure outcomes of treatment and conduct continuous evaluation
Identify effective practices and programs to improve and enhance quality of
services.
Able to apply formal and informal modes of assessment.
Maintain efficient client records and documentation. i.e. Assessment reports filing in students’ confidential file.

Treatment Strategies

Implement intervention program based on assessment, interpretation and planning.

Discharge Planning

The Speech and Language Therapists should write a discharge based on the following:
Documented evidence showing that the student has achieved all the objectives or the students can no longer benefit from the therapy.
The student to be discharge from therapy services if he/she leaves the school.
Recommend other services, if applicable to the student and other family members.
Refer and write a discharge summary, if necessary, when the student is going to another service or an APSN School.

Training and Support

Train and support teachers, caregivers and other communication partners of individuals with speech, language, communication difficulties.
Mentor and supervise of support personnel.

Job Requirements:

Recognized degree in Speech Pathology from accredited college/ university
Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant work experience ranging from children to young adults with intellectual disability would be an advantage
Ability to work with independently and with minimum supervision
Valid practising certificate with Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC)
Entry level candidates who recently completed the studies in Speech Pathology are welcome to apply. We will provide AHPC supervision requirements and support.

Job Purpose:

You shall be responsible for assessing and identifying individual needs of students &/or trainees with occupational therapy issues and concerns. You will also formulate, develop and customise appropriate occupational therapy programs for the students &/or trainees.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluation & Assessment

Assess the underlying skills and issues related to hand function, oral motor function, visual motor and perceptual skills, sensory awareness/processing, self-care and pre-vocational tasks in the educational setting.
Review suitability of referrals for occupational therapy intervention.
Gather informative data through formal and informal assessment. These would include parents/guardian, teacher’s interview; classroom observation and review of student’s personal file etc.
Provide re-assessment, review of goals and progress regularly (every semester).
Recommend appropriate adaptive equipment and assistive devices as required by the students &/or trainees to improve function.
Monitor and evaluate students’/trainees’ functional abilities and make recommendations to support students’/trainees’ suitability for open employment.

Program Planning / Intervention

Provide individual and/or group occupational therapy session that will improve students’/ trainees’ functional performance and skills.
Select and prepare functional activities that can be easily modified to match students’/ trainnes’ skill and interest thus ensure success.
Recommend classroom and work site modifications.
Conduct home visit as and when necessary.
Provide parent /caregiver support such as home program to ensure and encourage continuity of the occupational therapy intervention at home.
Assist on various aspects of training for students/trainees on job-trial and work preparation program

Administration

Keep proper inventory of all equipment and fixtures with regular updating.
Propose and justify budget for the appropriate OT program
Participate actively in continuing education program within the organization, NCSS and other professional bodies.
Conduct in-house training programs for relevant staff / parents / caregivers / volunteers in the organization.
Submit monthly report and other related written reports to school principal/ centre director.

Professional Consultation

Liaise with various professional disciplines in the rehabilitative treatment process.
Liaise with various discipline involved in the rehabilitative treatment process. (e.g teachers, parents, principal/ centre director, school administrator and professional staff)

Job Requirements:

Recognized diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy with 3 to 5 years clinical experience
Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant work experience with children and young adults with intellectual disability would be an advantage
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Valid practising certificate with Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC)
