NTU’s Student Affairs Office seeks to achieve its mission of collaborating and co-creating a meaningful and enriching student life experience with its partners by:
- Promoting students’ personal growth through co-curricular learning arising from student-led activities, leadership development initiatives, residential hall programmes, inclusion and integration efforts, community engagement initiatives and sports
- Facilitating meaningful engagement among key stakeholders within and outside of the NTU community
Responsibilities
In alignment with NTU’s strategic goals, include the following:
- Contribute to the development of and lead the implementation of the strategy, policies, and frameworks, which enhance the support of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as facilitate the adoption of inclusive and integrative practices, by the NTU community
- Supervise a team which supports students with SEN, by identifying relevant services for both academic and non-academic activities
- Lead quality improvement projects, to bridge gaps identified in student case management and support services
Requirements:
- A good degree from a recognised University related to special education or educational psychology
- Good working knowledge on different types of disabilities and related support services. Strong ability in case management supervision, planning and administration
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience working with youth or people with disabilities and supervision of case management. Prior experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous
- Support and management of persons with SEN and/or disabilities
- Analytical and conceptual skills, especially in understanding organisational change and making judicious decisions
- Communication, negotiation and influencing skills (written and verbal), especially in working collaborative with university students and colleagues from different cultural and disciplinary backgrounds
- Good organisational skills
- Strong intrinsic motivation for continuous improvement, innovation, and team spirit
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office application software
- Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills across organisational hierarchy
- Passionate in nurturing young people and challenging them to achieve their desired career goals
