In the context of the multi-partner project HYCOMBS (https://www.cares.cam.ac.uk/research/hycombs/), which is part of Singapore’s CREATE investment in Decarbonisation (https://www.nrf.gov.sg/files/Media_Release_CREATE_Decarbonisation_Challenge_with_ANNEX_A__B_final.pdf), a large number of positions have become available to research hydrogen and ammonia combustion.

The project is a collaborative effort between CARES, CNRS, NTU, NUS, NTNU (National Technical University of Norway) and Tohoku University (Japan). All the positions are held in Singapore and will normally last 2 years in the first instance, with the possibility to extend if funding is available. The successful candidate will be working under the academic supervision of one of the project’s partners depending on the particular skills and interests of the researcher. Short stays in Japan, France and Norway for working in the partner laboratories are envisaged for some of these positions. Who are we looking for?

We are seeking highly motivated combustion researchers to work in the following areas:

1) Kinetics: (i) Experiments with flow reactors and laminar flames. The successful applicant will be skilled in analytical combustion chemistry systems such as gas chromatography and laser detection; (ii) Development of detailed and reduced chemical mechanisms. Experience in combustion chemistry modelling is needed.

2) Laminar and turbulent flame fundamentals: (i) Experiments with laminar pulsed and turbulent swirl flames. Skills in flame rig design, laser diagnostics and optical methods for flames are needed. (ii) Modelling with combustion Computational Fluid Dynamics (DNS, LES), with experience in the fundamentals of turbulent combustion, CFD and massively-parallel computations.

3) High-pressure combustion: Experiments and simulations for reciprocating engines and gas turbines. For the experimental positions, the successful candidate must be skilled in optical diagnostics, engine combustion, swirl combustion, fluids handling and data analysis. For the modelling positions, experience in CFD of engines or gas turbine combustors is a prerequisite.

4) Detonations and ignition risk analysis with CFD. The position involves high-order CFD methods for capturing detonations and turbulent flow analysis for ignition. The successful candidate must be experienced with CFD.

What skills will you need?

All positions require a PhD or equivalent research experience in a combustion topic relevant to the above areas, strong motivation to work in a multi-national collaborative team, and extensive experience with report writing, journal publications, and presentations to academic and industrial settings. We will use existing data to analyse the built and natural environments in Singapore and construct profiles of urban environmental exposures at both population and individual levels. We will compile and map a set of environmental indicators and discover urban environmental exposure archetypes. These will be linked to the record of each study participant’s individual behaviour and health outcome.

Who are we looking for?

A postdoctoral research fellow to conduct the following work activities:

· Coordinate the work package activities and report on these activities and their results.

· Daily supervise other researchers and their activities in the work package.

· Take the lead in writing articles for publication in reputable journals.

· Collect open-source data and fuse this data towards a comprehensive and integrated city model of Singapore.

· Transform this data for use in a knowledge graph.

· Compute urban heat island (UHI) intensity to include the interaction of urban morphogenetics such as urban form, sky-view factor, and local temperature anomalies.

· Compute human biometeorology indices such as physiological equivalent temperature (PET) and universal thermal climate index (UTCI).

· Compute humid-heat stress by integrating spatially averaged ambient meteorological data.

· Assess the spatial distribution of heat health risks, identify the climate adaptation capacity of vulnerable groups and neighbourhoods.

· Evaluate the social impacts of climate change (e.g., temperature, heat stress) on human health and mobility behaviour.

· Compute a novel humid-heat index by using multi-modal data, combining geostatistical, AI, and urban physical modelling, apportioned to the chosen unit of analysis.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transport Modeller to join our project, HD4. Working collaboratively with a team of population health scientists, geospatial scientists, and data engineers, the post holder will lead on building an agent-based simulation model for Singapore. This role requires a multi-skilled individual that can work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Collaboration: Work closely with researchers to understand the data needs of the programme and contribute to the design of scientifically robust and policy relevant models linking transport, the built environment, and health outcomes

· Data synthesis: Collaborate with the data engineer and geo-spatial scientists to run simulations within a temporally and spatially detailed network

· Model building: Build operational agent based behavioural models covering vehicle ownership, trip generation, mode choice, destination choice, and route choice for diverse population groups.

· Validation: Ensure model robustness through checking, calibration, and validation.

· Support: Provide technical support and training to researchers.

· Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for model development. Support project reporting.

The broad aim of the project is to develop novel approaches and technologies for fully de-fossilised routes to complex functional molecules and molecular materials. The project will also explore novel synthetic methods for conversion of the building blocks into end-use functional molecules. Novel synthesis technologies (photoelectrochemistry, sonochemistry, mechanochemistry, etc), as well as advanced research methods (AI, chemoinformatics, high-throughput synthesis) and process metrics (LCA and technoeconomic analysis) are included in this large project.

Who are we looking for?

The Gaunt group are looking for passionate and creative scientist to join our team as postdoctoral researchers in synthetic chemistry based in Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research and Education in Singapore, and closely integrated with the Gaunt group @ the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will join the dynamic and collaborative research group of Professor Matthew Gaunt, working at the forefront of cutting-edge synthetic methodologies and their applications (https://www.thegauntgroup.com/).

• Prepare assessment resources and protocol for mental capacity assessments so as to contextualise to the needs of the student

4. Provide training to stakeholders
• Conduct training for stakeholders (e.g. employer education, staff induction)
• Conduct specialised training (e.g. CARE Kit training, Understanding self-harm behaviour)
• Lead in the design and customisation of training to meet needs of stakeholders
• Collect and collate of data to measure training effectiveness
• Evaluate and review effectiveness of training design to ensure overall training objectives are met
5. Perform Clinical Supervision
• Provide guidance to junior staff on assessment, case intervention so as to adhere to both organisational and psychological guidelines
6. Leadership
• Provide thought leadership in the design of the various portfolios in psychology discipline
• Provide ongoing guidance to junior psychologist or intern in their key responsibilities and functions
7. Administrative duties
• Digitization of reports
• Documentation of clinical duties
• Assist in preparing and submitting Key Review Area (KRA) and targets to AP Manager
• Carry out other administrative duties assigned by AP Manager

Job Requirements:

• Possess a Masters in Applied Psychology/ Clinical Psychology from an accredited university and be registered/eligible for registration with SRP or an equivalent professional body.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of work related experience with relevant exposure in the area of intellectual disability or other related disabilities.
• Expertise and familiarity in conducting and interpreting psychological assessment
• Proficient in a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions
• Skilled in crisis intervention and management
• Ability to provide training to stakeholders
• Dedicated to ongoing professional development through clinical supervision

• Plan engaging and well-paced lessons taking account of the diverse learner profiles of students
• Deliver lessons using evidence-based pedagogy and meaningful activities, to meet the educational needs of individual students
• Implement appropriate modes of assessment to monitor student progress by providing accurate feedback , and implementing suitable instructional supports to close gaps
• Plan and deliver comprehensive vocational educational programmes (On-Site Training) to develop students’ work-related skills

Holistic student development

• Build a strong relationship with students by demonstrating care, concern and encouragement
• Design and implement positive, robust classroom routines and practices to create and maintain a safe and conducive learning environment as well as foster student development and well-being
• Implement techniques and behaviour plans to manage students with complex and challenging behaviours

Job Requirements:

• Degree/ Diploma/ Higher NITEC in Retail Operations or Retail Operations– Omni Channel (E-Commerce)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Supervisory or Managerial position in Warehousing
• Experience in E-Commerce/Omni Channel would be an advantage
• Experience in teaching/ special needs education would be an advantage
