This advertisement is recruiting for the position of Food and Consumer Education (FCE) Assistant.

If successfully selected, you will be seconded to MOE secondary school located in Upper Serangoon Road.

Contract Period: 2 January 2025 to 24 Oct 2025 or after the issuance of LOA whichever is later.

Option to Extend: 2 January 2026 to 23 Oct 2026 or after the issuance of LOA whichever is later.

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays and school holidays in November and December and on the following days: Eve of Chinese New Year, Youth Day, eve of Teachers’ Day and Teachers’ Day, eve of National Day, Thanksgiving and Award Presentation Ceremony (TAPC), and first three weeks of June school holidays.

The service required are set out as follows :

• To assist the teachers in the preparation of crockery and ingredients for cookery classes.
• To assist the teachers in the distribution of crockery and ingredients to students during cookery classes.
• To clean all equipment and crockery items used during cookery lessons and ensure these items are stored appropriately at the end of the working day.
• To ensure that table-tops and floors are kept clean at the end of each lesson, and at the end of the day.
• To perform any other duties as assigned by SH/HOD overseeing the department.

The personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• GCE ‘N’ Level: able to understand instructions, read, write and speak simple English.
• A valid WSQ Food Safety Course (FSC) Level 1 (or above) certification during period of contract: Possess knowledge of food preparation and safety (Company to provide proof of certificate)
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in any previous food handling assignments (Contractor must provide employment history of candidates).

Job Description

• To develop and conduct effective lesson plans to teach physical education appropriate for the primary/secondary age group;
• To plan and implement appropriate PE programmes to support and enhance children’s understanding of health, physical exercise and safety;
• To assess, observe, record and report on student progress in their physical development (gross and fine motor skills and coordination), including writing student reports and attending parents meetings;
• To obtain and maintain appropriate sports equipment, in collaboration with the respective staff of the preschools;
• To conduct appropriate after school clubs as assigned;
• To participate in any school events as assigned.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education/ Pre-School Teaching or its equivalent (preferred);
• Relevant qualifications in Physical Education or Sports Science (preferred);
• Excellent verbal communication skills;
• Strong motivational skills;
• Possess patience and extensive knowledge of physical fitness, sports and exercise;
• Minimum of one year or more teaching experience.
