Who are we looking for?

We are seeking highly motivated combustion researchers to work in the following areas:

1) Kinetics: (i) Experiments with flow reactors and laminar flames. The successful applicant will be skilled in analytical combustion chemistry systems such as gas chromatography and laser detection; (ii) Development of detailed and reduced chemical mechanisms. Experience in combustion chemistry modelling is needed.

2) Laminar and turbulent flame fundamentals: (i) Experiments with laminar pulsed and turbulent swirl flames. Skills in flame rig design, laser diagnostics and optical methods for flames are needed. (ii) Modelling with combustion Computational Fluid Dynamics (DNS, LES), with experience in the fundamentals of turbulent combustion, CFD and massively-parallel computations.

3) High-pressure combustion: Experiments and simulations for reciprocating engines and gas turbines. For the experimental positions, the successful candidate must be skilled in optical diagnostics, engine combustion, swirl combustion, fluids handling and data analysis. For the modelling positions, experience in CFD of engines or gas turbine combustors is a prerequisite.

4) Detonations and ignition risk analysis with CFD. The position involves high-order CFD methods for capturing detonations and turbulent flow analysis for ignition. The successful candidate must be experienced with CFD.

All positions require a PhD or equivalent research experience in a combustion topic relevant to the above areas, strong motivation to work in a multi-national collaborative team, and extensive experience with report writing, journal publications, and presentations to academic and industrial settings. HD4 sits at the heart of Singapore’s global research and development hub and paves the way for a sustainable and healthy city. It will undertake research in the following key areas: characterising the features of the environment that potentially impact health in Singapore; understanding the links between environmental factors, individual behaviour and health outcomes; observing the impact of environmental change on health in Singapore; simulating the impact of potential changes on the health of Singaporeans; and working with government agencies to co-develop data-rich public health tools.

The scientific techniques, technologies, tools and most importantly the knowledge gained through the programme will create a comprehensive systems view of how the urban environment affects population health in Singapore. The programme will train and enrich the talent pool of next generation of researchers, and benefit from local and international expertise and an innovative interdisciplinary research ecosystem. Work Package 1, led by Assoc. Prof. Rudi STOUFFS (NUS) and Ronita Bardhan (Cambridge), targets the identification and assembly of existing geocoded environmental datasets and linkage to individual behaviour and health outcomes. We will use existing data to analyse the built and natural environments in Singapore and construct profiles of urban environmental exposures at both population and individual levels. We will compile and map a set of environmental indicators and discover urban environmental exposure archetypes. These will be linked to the record of each study participant’s individual behaviour and health outcome.

A postdoctoral research fellow to conduct the following work activities:

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking highly motivated combustion researchers to work in the following areas:

1) Kinetics: (i) Experiments with flow reactors and laminar flames. · Compute urban heat island (UHI) intensity to include the interaction of urban morphogenetics such as urban form, sky-view factor, and local temperature anomalies.

· Compute humid-heat stress by integrating spatially averaged ambient meteorological data.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transport Modeller to join our project, HD4. Working collaboratively with a team of population health scientists, geospatial scientists, and data engineers, the post holder will lead on building an agent-based simulation model for Singapore. This role requires a multi-skilled individual that can work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Collaboration: Work closely with researchers to understand the data needs of the programme and contribute to the design of scientifically robust and policy relevant models linking transport, the built environment, and health outcomes

Job Description:

• Assist trainers in all aspects of facilitation of training Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and other advantaged individuals.
• Work with trainer to develop and conduct training programmes for PWDs and other advantaged individuals.
• Training, supervising, maintaining and developing the functional skills of clients in the areas of vocational, community living and social participation.
• Implement and monitor the Individual Training Plans for PWDs.

Job Purpose:

You shall be working closely with various stakeholders to provide assessment, intervention, consultation and training services to address clients’ learning/emotional/behavioural needs and difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist and assess clients behaviour and needs via observation, interviews and informal tests.
• Assist, administer and monitor appropriate treatment strategies and therapy modalities, with support from Psychologist or Senior Psychologist.
• Assist, plan and deliver individual or group interventions in collaboration with Psychologist or Senior Psychologist.
• Work with other allied health professionals and direct service staff to provide multi-disciplinary support to the clients so as to maximize their capabilities.
• Work with direct service staff (teachers), caregivers and families to implement intervention strategies and programmes, and to provide consultations to them, as necessary.
• Maintain updated client records of interventions and reports.
• Assist and conduct relevant discipline-related training to direct care staff, care givers and families, and volunteers.
