The 3-month Lion City Parkour Coaching Career Trial aims to onboard and train new coaches in honing up their practical coaching skills to match up with the company’s vision of bringing quality parkour education to Singapore.

In this 3 months, we will be running our first term (quarter) of classes and courses of the year. Thus, you will be going through the term with the coaches and students that will be coaching or attending.

You will be introduced to the foundations of Parkour and Flips, writing and executing lesson and course plans, class control, structure, safety, working with a variety of different age groups such as children, adults, and seniors, as well as a variety of class types like regular beginner classes, birthday parties, CCAs, workshops, and the like.

Ultimately, we are looking for both male and female fresh graduates (post-NS), looking to get some experience in the sports coaching line of work. It will be a bonus if you already have some outside coaching experience or had work with children before. Of course, if you are open and willing to try and learn some Parkour yourself, this is also a great opportunity to do so!

There will also be opportunities to immerse in our company culture, as well as finding other administrative roles that may be suitable for the others to join in. These tasks include gym maintenance, woodworking, assisting in media-related works with our media manager, front desk administration, customer service, and other miscellaneous tasks.

Month 1: Orientation and Observation

● Shadow experienced coaches from Lion City Parkour in a range of parkour and flips classes, observing diverse teaching techniques and student interactions.

● Participate in select classes as a student/trainee to develop personal skills in parkour, flips, and movement.

● Begin to familiarize with the company culture, meeting students and staff and attending the monthly coaches' gathering.

● Learn the ropes of the company’s SOPs regarding coaching rules, gym rules, customer interactions, our booking system, etc.

Job Summary

A Postdoctoral position is available at the Berkeley Education Alliance for Research in Singapore (BEARS) with Assistant Professor Yanwei Lum. The goal of the project is to develop electrochemical systems for CO2 conversion and work with high sensitivity analytical tools that would be amenable for high throughput screening and reaction mechanism investigation. The candidate is expected to build model catalyst systems to investigate hypothesis and validate existing theories. They will also work in the framework of a larger team at BEARS for high throughput analysis and screening. Requirement

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree or Master Degree (In Education / Teaching, Linguistics / Chinese Languages or equivalent)
• At least 2 to 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field.
• Passionate to teach and interact with children/parents
• Patient, responsible, cheerful and positive minded
• Good interpersonal skills (in both English and Mandarin) and great team player
• Able to work during day times (afternoons), evenings or weekends, in particular day times

Project Officer (Education Analyst/Communications) position is available immediately. The successful applicant will work on projects that involve planning, organizing and implementing outreach activities to promote proven educational practices and research to empower faculty to advance pedagogies and inspire students to become effective lifelong learners, as well as raise the visibility of good teaching practices in NTU to international audiences.

The Project Officer (Education Analyst/Communications) will work closely with the social media and student engagement team to engage in outreach activities, which involve:

Key Responsibilities:

• Curating relevant education research
• Summarizing (1) into research reports
• Conducting internal scans to identify good teaching and learning practices
• Designing materials to communicate (2) and (3) to internal and external audiences
• Proposing new media strategy and implementing outreach activities to promote (4)
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of (5)

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in education, communications, psychology, cognitive sciences or related field
• Have keen interest in education research
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English Language - for research work purposes
• Must be competent in developing new media strategy communication materials (e.g., blogs/ vlogs/ podcasts/ social media posts)
• Possess ability to work independently on regular duties
• Possess ability to work collaboratively with team members on group projects
• Demonstrate excellent inter-personal communication skills
