Job Description
AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.
AI Singapore (AISG) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Research Assistant. The Research Assistant will collaborate with researchers, engineers, and external stakeholders to facilitate the research, evaluation and deployment processes involved in research projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Participate in the full research to deployment pipeline and help conceptualize, develop research experiments, and then implement the systems to execute these experiments.
- Work with a team and interact closely with both the academic researchers and the industry partners.
- Attend reading groups and seminars, master research techniques and engineering practices, and design research tools and experimental testbeds.
- Apply state-of-the-art AI algorithms, explore new solutions, and build working prototypes. You will also learn to deploy the systems and solutions at scale.
Qualifications
An ideal candidate should have the following:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in AI, computer science, or related disciplines including Engineering Systems;
- Strong system-building skills and keen interests in working with emerging technologies and frameworks;
- Solid background in AI and machine learning, preferably with at least 1-year of experience;
- Past experiences in:
- Open-source DevOps tools and software as a service solutions;
- Development and implementation of AI and machine learning algorithms;
- Related work at an academic research lab
- Good written and verbal communications skills;
- A willingness to learn and experiment with novel ideas and new domains.
- Interest or prior work in social data science and online trust and safety. Experience in areas such as user behaviour analysis, content moderation, misinformation detection, or platform security will be highly advantageous.
