Job Description
An internship position for a student with manufacturing, chemical and/or mechanical background to obtain training in research and development, operations of demonstration plant, workplace health and safety in manufacturing environment for sustainable waste management.
Intern’s duties include:
1. Contribute to research and development activities at a manufacturing research facility (demonstration plant) through planned experiments and equipment operations.
2. Follow regulatory and statutory requirements, especially, workplace health and safety practices. Contribute to preparation and maintenance of process documentation, such as permits to work, risk assessments, safe work procedures and method statements.
3. Support site operation activities as directed by a supervisor.
4. Maintain and improve housekeeping. Ensure that waste, chemicals, product handling equipment and assigned areas are kept clean.
5. Resolve product quality issues arising from production or operation by working closely with team members.
6. Assist with other tasks as directed by a supervisor and company management.
Requirements for the intern:
Pursuing Diploma from a Poly or Bachelor or Master’s degree from University in Manufacturing, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering in Singapore.
Has hands-on experience with hand tools, minor repairs and maintenance of equipment, day-to-day troubleshooting of machinery/equipment..
Proficient with MS Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiar with 3D CAD software: preferably, Autodesk Fusion.
Able to follow Workplace Safety and Health regulations. Having safety training certificates is an advantage.
Fit to wear dust mask/gas respirator.
Prepared to work in Tuas area.
