Job Description
About the Role: As a Blended Learning Specialist/Educational Technologist, you will work closely with university instructors and their teams of digital production assistants to develop pedagogically sound, engaging and impactful course lecture videos and/or other instructional materials. Your expertise in video production, digital design, and emerging technologies will be instrumental in creating high quality university course materials.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Blended Learning Projects: Collaborate with instructors, videographers, graphic designers, and other relevant stakeholders to plan and execute innovative blended learning projects
• Guide Instructional Design: Advise instructors on best practices in digital pedagogy, including: storyboarding & scripting, audio recording, video editing, creating engaging visuals & animations, subtitling & captioning, and incorporating interactive elements & multimedia
• Mentor and Supervise: Train, guide and support the digital production assistants (talented university students or staff) throughout the project lifecycle
• Stay Ahead of the Curve: Explore and implement innovative technologies and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning experiences
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experiences
• A good degree from a reputable university
• Proficiency in video production workflows, including recording, editing, and post-production
• Proficiency in essential tools, such as PowerPoint (for creating content slides and basic animations) and Camtasia (for video recording and editing) • Expertise in instructional design principles, multimedia learning, and blended learning best practices
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, students, and technical staff
Desirable Skills
• Experience with animation tools, such as Powtoon and Canva
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (Canvas) 2
• Experience with teaching at the university or lower schools
