Your Role

As a Lead ML Engineer, you will play a leading role in operationalizing ML Models developed by data scientists. You will serve as the focal point for ML model refactoring, optimization, containerization, deployment, and quality monitoring. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Conduct reviews for compliance of the ML models in accordance with overall platform governance principles such as versioning, data / model lineage, code best practices and provide feedback to data scientists for potential improvements

About the role

We are looking for a Senior AI/ML expert with a combination of Engineering/Applied Research experience to help us develop our foundational logical reasoning AI system. You will have worked in AI/ML for several years to have experienced, researched/applied different neural network architectures to various problems (e.g. natural language, vision, graphs, symbolic, formal domains), using several model training and optimization techniques (e.g. value models, reinforcement learning, search strategies), and across modalities (text, audio, video). A strong track record in graphs (graph theory, GNNs, GraphML, etc.), and ML-based code synthesis and/or validation will be invaluable. We are looking for candidates to join the fusion-energy effort in the newly formed Future Energy Acceleration & Translation (FEAT) Programme, A*STAR. FEAT's plasma physics team focuses primarily on plasma diagnostics, microwave and radiofrequency (RF) heating and current drive (H&CD), and exhaust, with an emphasis on solving the challenges faced by future fusion energy systems. The new hires will be expected to contribute to, and potentially lead, research in magnetic confinement fusion. This includes analytical, computational, and experimental approaches, with the particular emphasis dependent on one's interests and skill set. While the new hires will begin by working on existing projects, participation in grant calls as a principal investigator will be highly encouraged.

We are looking to fill several positions in:

• Plasma diagnostics, including experimental, computational, and AI approaches.
• Theory and simulation of microwave and RF H&CD.
• Theory and simulation of plasma-material interactions, including edge turbulence and transport, sheaths, and sheath-edge coupling.

The key scope of work includes:
