Job Role Description

A Student Care Facilitator creates a safe and supportive learning environment for students, manages their behaviour, and effectively communicates with parents and stakeholders. He/She is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times in the Student Care Centre. He/She facilitates and guides children in their daily routines, activities, and programs. Classroom Management

• Create a safe, stimulating, positive, and supportive learning environment in the classroom
• Establish clear expectations and rules for behaviour in the classroom and consistently enforce them
• Foster and maintain integrated and inclusive student care environment in which students with varying abilities and needs (including hearing loss and mild to moderate SEN) play and learn together

• Maintain a structured daily schedule with engaging activities, minimising unstructured downtime
• Plan and execute lessons and activities for holidays and ad-hoc full-days
• Incorporate both indoor and outdoor activities to provide a well-rounded experience
• Provide basic academic support and supervise homework completion daily
• Provide weekly spelling practice
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of program activities and make improvements as necessary

Administration & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student attendance, activities, and incidents
• Collate attendance and activity consent/registration responses; follow-up on non-responses
• Keep track and follow-up closely on the minimum attendance requirements and absence documentation of students on the financial assistance schemes
• Work closely with the Centre’s admin team to mitigate potential attendance and documentation issues

• Attend regular staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills
• Attend trainings, courses and refreshers for necessary skills and certifications
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Student Care

• Clearly explain, consistently remind, and regularly encourage children to follow and practice centre-wide routines, rules, and expectations
• Ensure Centre-wide routines, rules, and expectations are displayed in a manner that is easy to see and understand

Education, Skills, and Competencies

Education and Experience

• Minimum requirement – ITE Certificate
• Preferably with teaching qualification or at least 1 year of relevant experience as a Student Care Facilitator/Teacher in a Student Care Centre
• (Bonus) Completion of WSQ Introductory Student Care Course offered by Ngee Ann Polytechnic
• Experience working with children between the ages of 7 to 14
