Job Purpose
Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and business challenges in the financial sector. The Senior Engineer role within ICE Network Engineering team provides leadership in network design, validation, deployment, maintenance, and operational support.
The successful candidate will work on further advancing one of the largest and global financial networks with a wide variety of critical services. The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic global team-based environment demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities and the highest degree of professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement complex Juniper-based WAN solutions tailored for real-time market feeds and multicast data, emphasizing ultra-low latency and high reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather network requirements and translate them into effective network designs.
- Support/maintain various multi-vendor production network environments critical to the business.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot, provide expert-level support for network-related incidents, outages, and escalations, working to quickly identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related network WAN technologies.
- Understand and follow ICE operational policies/procedures and promote adherence to same
- Provide technical knowledge needed to ensure safe, effective, and efficient changes to the network infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with vendors, service providers, and internal technology teams to deliver seamless, high-performance network solutions.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Must have minimum current Juniper JNCIS-SP and/or Cisco CCNP SP Certification
- Minimum 7+ years of networking experience with at least 5 years of design, configure and implement complex juniper based global MPLS WAN network. (This role is not related to SD WAN)
- In-depth knowledge of WAN protocols and technologies, such as BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, VPNs, and QoS.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, NAT, route maps/ACLs, and routing policies.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Juniper networking products, including Junos OS, MX Series routers, EX/QFX Series switches, and SRX Series firewalls.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of multicast design and troubleshooting including IGMP and PIM protocols.
- Proficiency in distinguishing between critical business-impacting incidents and minor issues and adeptly resolving or escalating them as appropriate.
- Understating of low-latency network design principles, PTP clock synchronization, and precision time protocol (PTP) implementations.
- Strong knowledge and experience developing in Python.
- Strong knowledge of modern configuration management tools (Ansible, Jinja, JSON)
- Experience with network monitoring, management tools and possess expert packet capture analysis skills.
- Thorough understanding of different Linux shell commands and experience with network automation tools and frameworks.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving global work environment, staying current with advancements in networking technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills
- Highly motivated and ability to work independently.
- Ability to multitask and work autonomously on multiple projects.
- Strong customer service orientation
Schedule
This role has remote flexibility of one day per week. This position will require some weekends and after-hours work.
