Qualifications

The Must-Haves:

• Proven Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in machine learning engineering or similar roles, including at least 2 years of demonstrated success in a management position.
• Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in building and deploying ML platforms, including a strong command of programming languages (Python, R, or Java), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and containerization (Kubernetes).
• MLOps: In-depth knowledge of MLOps principles, enabling the productionalization of ML models (training, validation, deployment, monitoring).
• Strategic Visionary: Ability to translate business needs into a technical roadmap, ensuring our ML Platform consistently creates value.
• Exceptional Leader: Possess communication and mentorship skills that inspire teams and attract top talent.

As an Assistant Manager (Fleet Engineering), you are expected to:

• Plan the schedule, budget expenditure and work scope of structure/ machinery of the tugs & waterboats maintenance/ repair/ modification work/ docking;
• Coordinate with different stakeholders during the preparation/ execution of the maintenance/ repair/ modification work/ docking of the tugs & waterboats to ensure the works are carried out smoothly;
• Write/ generate necessary document/ write-up for reporting/ approval request/ presentation/ documentation purpose;
• Chair/ initiate/ conduct meeting/ discussion with the stakeholders for decision making/ status update/ information sharing & dissemination/ negotiating purpose;
• Conduct presentation to stakeholders/ target audience for status update/ information sharing/ dissemination purpose;
• Carry out manpower deployment and mentoring of the fleet engineering specialists in the workshop for breakdown repair and maintenance;
• Handle administrative matters related to the fleet engineering specialists that are in frontline/ workshop (tugs & waterboats);
• Inventory management of the spare parts for tugs and waterboats;
• Provide solution to resolved difficult breakdown cases of tugs/ waterboats and work process in view of workplace safety/ cost saving;

Qualifications

PhD degree in Material Sciences, Electrical/Electronics, Applied sciences, basic sciences, technology, mechanical engineering or other relevant fields. Experience with data analytics/AI models a plus.

Report to the Project Manager

· Overall in charge of site coordination.

· Lead a team of operation staff in daily operations.

· Manage and oversee the day-to-day construction activities of the project.

· Monitor and control the general workers' deployment on-site.

· Maintain and manage site storage areas for building materials and equipment.

· Maintain site access throughout the construction period.

· Planning ahead to prevent the problem on-site before it occurs, planning the delivery and storage of equipment and materials.

· Ensure progress of work is within budget and timelines as well as quality and safety objectives.

· Control and monitor work progress and resources.

· Monitor and control material wastage.

· In-depth understanding of project specifications, technical details, and construction drawings.

· Carry out work scheduling, material requisition planning, project coordination, and documentation.

· Ensure timely completion and good quality of works & carried out safely and WSHE regulations are complied with.

· Provide proper guidance and training to junior staff.

· Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor/ Management.

• To be responsible for the logistical, administrative and operational for construction project aspects, including liaise with customers for project requirements and progress;
• To plan the work sequence and manpower deployment require for the construction site works;
• Attend meetings, correspondences and liaise with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers in resolving design and site problems encountered during the construction period.
• To supervise workers and monitor sub-contractors at construction sites.
• To ensure efficient utilization of manpower, raw materials and consumables for our construction projects at construction sites;
• To ensure that construction projects are completed as per approved drawings within the required deadline and allocated budget;
• To take actions to resolve any delay/ technical issues/ difficulties that may arise on constructions sites;
• To ensure the works at construction sites carried out are complying with safe work procedures;
• To report to project team on work progress at construction sites;
• To prepare MOS and MSRA presentation for customer view;
• To be able to foresee the shortcomings of the project and discuss with team;
• To perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
