We are looking for a Package Silicon Integrator in Package Development Engineering (PDE) Senior Engineer who will lead and drive Micron’s Packaging Technology Development Projects meeting Time to Market (TTM) business unit needs as well as meeting performance targets for Thermal, Electrical, Mechanical, Reliability and Cost. You will collaborate with Micron’s multi-functional team that include Product Development, Wafer level process, Assembly, Test, Manufacturing and Global Quality. Together, we will be responsible for the designing Test Vehicle Development Strategy, and execution to definition, development, and delivery of state-of-the-art product/packages that will shape the future of advanced computing, automotive and mobile products.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Drive package technology integration activities for the silicon test chip development projects and support NPIs to keep roadmap items on track to meet “go to market” timelines.
• Coordinate core team in Development and NPI space of advanced 2.5D/3D packages and standard packaging to drive material and BOM choices, body sizes, manufacturability, and package constructions to achieve acceptable Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) requirements.
• Evaluate wafer design inclusive of bondpad, scribe, pillars/bump and polyimide, and drive materials and BOM choices such as die thickness and mold compound to meet chip package interaction requirements.
• Drive materials characterization from both package and die components to understand chip package interaction mechanism using TMA, DMA, nanoindentation, and packaging mechanical and thermal stress stimulus.
• Drive novel solutions with silicon design and product teams to recommend the optimum package solutions to meet electrical, mechanical (1st, 2nd, and 3rd level interconnect), thermal, reliability, cost, and other system level requirements.
• Interface closely with multi-functional team that include Product Development, Wafer Level Process, Assembly, Test, Manufacturing and Global Quality and manage the product/package to mass production.

Requirements:

• Bachelor/Masters of Science in physics, materials, mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering. MS or PhD preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related field, with hands-on experience in semiconductor packaging or Frontend processes, specifically in technology on
• Appreciation for Structured Problem Solving
• Ability to interpret die-, package-, and system-level design and simulation (thermal/mechanical/electrical) methodologies and results
• Knowledge in Chip Package Interaction (CPI)

JOB PURPOSE

The Regional Service Engineering Manager leads, guides and manages the Service Engineering Teams to ensure that the Company’s products being used by customers are properly configured and commissioned and can be used safely. The Senior Chemical Engineer will work on designing, tendering, and monitoring the installation of bulk gas and special gas systems for industrial properties in semiconductors, electronics, biopharma, and related industries. The gas systems include bulk gases, high-purity inert gases, flammable gases, corrosive gases, hazardous gases, and related distribution networks.

The Senior Chemical Engineer will collate the client’s capacity requirements and specifications and prepare the conceptual design, make a detailed design for system capacity, configuration, schematic, P&ID, PFD, layout, distribution, and system parameters, and prepare documents like the scope of work, reports, specifications, standards, logistics, and detailed drawings for tender. - Gas / Environmental / Ultra Pure Water / Chemical Systems.

The prospective candidate will be responsible for the following,

- Responsible for Concept and Detailed Design for Process Facility systems for the entire course of the project (Conceptual Design, Detailed Engineering calculations, System & Component sizing, Budgeting, Drawing development coordination from Engineering up to Construction stage e.g. PIDs / layouts / sections).

- Capable in interdisciplinary understanding and managing of relevant interfaces.

- Detailed understanding of all technical standards, drawing formats and symbols.

- Tendering process (e.g. Technical and Commercial bid evaluation).

- Time and schedule management.

- Check and review engineering document and drawings for accuracy and completeness for submission and shop fabrication (e.g. Submittal Procedure).

- Lead system design and reviews with customers and ensure customer sign off and approval.

- Review of all the bench mark data, scope and design change and contract variation aspects.

- Ensure Project Director/ Manager is kept aware of the process engineering design and construction progress and any cost and schedule impacts.

- Coordinate installations with sub-contractors on site.

- Support CSA & M&E team for the design including CAD team and project effectively & efficiently.

- Involved in the Commissioning of Systems and develop the documentation with the sub-contractors.

- Consolidate and upkeep of in-house engineering Standards.

- Able to work independently.

- Able to travel/ relocate.

Duties to Perform:

The senior Gas Engineer will work on designing, tendering, and monitoring the installation of bulk gas and special gas systems for industrial properties in semiconductors, electronics, biopharma, and related industries. The gas systems include bulk gases, high-purity inert gases, flammable gases, corrosive gases, hazardous gases, and related distribution networks.

The senior Gas Engineer will collate the client’s capacity requirements and specifications and prepare the conceptual design, make a detailed design for system capacity, configuration, schematic, P&ID, PFD, layout, distribution, and system parameters, and prepare documents like the scope of work, reports, specifications, standards, logistics, and detailed drawings for tender. He or she will review proposals from contractors and continue to support them during installation when required.

The successful candidate will work closely with other disciplines such as architects, civil, cleanroom, electrical, automation, mechanical, and construction engineers, as well as CAD/ BIM designer in designing and delivering the project.

Requirements:

You should have a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.

You should have sound experience in designing high-purity, and specialty gases and systems related to semiconductors manufacturing or similar facilities. You should be able to comprehend clients’ URS, and design with concept design, schematics, PFDs, P&IDs, routing layout, the scope of work, specifications, and functional descriptions. The experience in designing chemical systems will be definite added advantage.

Your familiarity with the Semi standards and Singapore standards, manufacturing tools, materials, and CAD/ BIM will be an added advantage.

You should be able to make presentations to clients and engineers on design, tendering, project execution, supervising progress, and quality of work.

Able to work independently.

Able to travel / relocate.
