JOB DESCRIPTION

The Enterprise Data group is focused on building a robust data platform which services a diverse set of investment teams and internal clients. The group consists of data sourcing experts, data engineers, product managers and platform engineers, who are responsible for the discovery, management, and curation of thousands of alpha sources for the firm and our investment professionals.

The Enterprise Data group is seeking a senior data engineer to lead data efforts in APAC region. The Data Engineering team’s mission is to manage and deliver a vast set of financial and alternative datasets and generate insights across asset classes and strategies to ExodusPoint’s diverse investment teams. The ideal candidate is a domain expert on major financial datasets who has technical skills to work with business and create enterprise data assets utilizing advanced data processing techniques and tools.

Responsibilities:

•  Partner with data strategy and sourcing team on data requirements to design data pipelines and delivery structures
•  Engage with vendors and technical teams to systematically ingest, evaluate, and create valuable data assets
•  Engage with technical and non‐technical clients as SME on data asset offerings
•  Collaborate with core engineering and product teams to create central capabilities to process, manage and distribute data assets
•  Investigate and remediate domain‐specific production issues escalated by the operations teams
•  Oversee the hiring, training, and development of team members
•  Excellent communication skills required to interact with stakeholders on priorities, deliverables and technical items

Required Experience:

•  Strong Python, Java and SQL experience
• 3 -7 Years relevant experience
•  Experience building robust and highly available data products
•  Strong experience in data architecture, application design and design best practices
•  Experience working with financial datasets including tick data
•  Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building data pipelines
•  Experience working with FTP, API, S3 and other distribution channels to source data
•  Experience working on multiple projects and with different stakeholders

Desired Experience:

•  Experience working with AWS or other cloud native tools for data processing and distribution
•  Experience with a range of financial asset classes including equities, futures, options, bonds, credit and FX
•  Experience in analytics, data science, machine learning and/or NLP
•  Experience working with real‐time streaming and high‐frequency datasets

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent
• Experience working in a Fintech or Start-Up
• At least 8 years or more of experience of leading engineering teams, with hands-on involvement, in building robust and scalable consumer and developer facing products and services
• Experience in building and scaling distributed software solutions across cloud based infrastructure (i.e., AWS, Azure, GCP), SaaS platforms (i.e., Salesforce, Temenos), API Management (i.e., Kong) and Data platforms (i.e., RedShift, BigQuery, Snowflake)
• Demonstrate understanding of how cybersecurity can be included into DevOps practices to promote a Shift-Left mindset
• Ability to manage multiple activities and develop working relationships
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and approach work methodically with attention to detail
• A strong passion to learn and to enable others to do better

Qualifications

What you should have:

- At least Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience);

- At least 7 years of relevant experience, familiar with C++/Go/Java program development (at least one), striving for high-quality code and focusing on the technical quality of the code.

- Highly proficient in designing data structures, building algorithms, and at least one programming language: Java, Python, C++ Go, PHP, pursue high-quality code and focused on code engineering quality

- At least 1 year of experience in Technical Lead Management or People Management

- Good communication skills, able to lead and drive projects effectively.

- Familiar with team and project management methodologies and approaches.
