The Manager will be responsible for overseeing automotive maintenance projects and supporting the Engineering and Operations Control team through innovation and data analysis. The role requires expertise in project execution, optimizing maintenance processes, and leveraging data analytics to drive operational efficiency. The Manager will also play a key role in implementing technological advancements and continuous improvement initiatives to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management for Corporate Fleet:

• Oversee projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and closure.
• Ensure all maintenance activities align with safety standards, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Track and report project progress to senior management and key stakeholders.

2. Support Engineering & Operations Control:

• Collaborate with workshop operations teams to drive improvements in fleet maintenance operations.
• Develop and implement data-driven strategies to enhance operational performance, including efficiency, productivity, and resource utilization.
• Use data analytics and KPIs to monitor and evaluate the performance of maintenance processes.
• Assist in the development of dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time insights into maintenance performance and equipment health.

3. Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement in automotive maintenance operations.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in automotive engineering and operations control to ensure the company remains competitive.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work closely with internal teams (Engineering, Operations, IT, etc.) and external partners (vendors, subcontractors, etc.) to ensure alignment on project goals and execution.
• Engage with senior management to align project outcomes with business strategy.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance and operations teams.

5. Resource & Team Management:

• Lead training initiatives to ensure that teams are proficient in the latest tools and technologies related to automotive maintenance.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automotive maintenance, project management, or engineering operations control, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing complex automotive maintenance projects. PMP or similar certification is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, fleet maintenance, and data analytics.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools to optimize operations.
• Experience implementing new technologies, driving process improvements, and promoting innovation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present data-driven insights.

JOB PURPOSE

JOB PURPOSE

The Regional Service Engineering Manager leads, guides and manages the Service Engineering Teams to ensure that the Company’s products being used by customers are properly configured and commissioned and can be used safely. To do that, the Service Engineers have to competently check, maintain and support the engineering and technical aspects of the products and troubleshoot and rectify any faults and problems that customers encounter.

CRITICAL WORK FUNCTIONS & KEY TASKS

1. Commissioning, Maintenance and Service Assignments
2. Lead, guide and oversee the Service Engineers in various countries to provide engineering (mainly electrical and mechanical) and technical support services to customers for commissioning, preventive maintenance and corrective services. The purpose is to ensure that the equipment/machine are properly installed and can be safely operated.
3. As the Manager for the Singapore team, allocate work and manage the Service Engineers in Singapore.
4. Advise and address cases escalated by team members, which is usually done remotely through emails, messaging and telecommunications on a 24 x 7 basis.
5. Provide engineering support and service for certain products personally.
6. Review or prepare quotations to tender for service contracts for preventive maintenance and repairs. Decide on terms and pricings.
7. Where necessary, support the clinical application specialist in attending to cases involving the use of robotics in the operating theatre.

2 Products, Stock & Knowledge Management

1. Deal with manufacturers on technical issues and spare parts.
2. Plan and ensure that stock level of spare parts is optimally kept.
3. Track and ensure that testers are calibrated and checked periodically.
4. Manage and enforce documentation of all assignments handled to build up a knowledge database for analysis, learning and sharing. Identify common issues and errors and prepare an article or advisory to educate the Engineers.
5. Prepare step-by-step training materials and operating manual (derived from service manuals provided by manufacturers) for every major equipment to guide the Engineers

Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment.

In 2021, Enterprise Singapore, the national standards body for Singapore, had appointed ERI@N as a Standards Development Organisation (SDO) to develop and promote standards under the Electrical and Electronic Standards Committee. This includes standards supporting emerging areas such as renewables -offshore wind/marine & solar energy, secondary batteries and cells, solid state transformers, electrical energy storage systems, and smart grids. We are looking for a passionate Project Manager to support the work of the SDO.

Core expertise:

Project management responsibilities include managing the identification, development and promotion of standards meeting key requirements set by Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG). These include supporting standards committees under the management of ERI@N in their standard development and promotion work to ensure timely and successful delivery of new and reviewed standards. The PM should have a background in business skills, project management, budgeting, analysis and stakeholder management. Familiarity with key technologies such as power systems, electronics, solar PV, battery systems and electrification as well as understanding of commercialization is an advantage.The PM must be detail oriented, able to multitask and demonstrate the ability to be intervene decisively and proactively.

Key Responsibilities:

Standards development

• Support standards committees to identify key areas for standards development from FY 2024 to FY 2026 which includes meetings with key stakeholders and preparing new work proposals.
• Support standards committees to develop standards within the timelines and quality requirements set by EnterpriseSG and the industry. These will include managing the preparations for meetings, capturing key comments, discussions and edits, conducting public consultations, addressing public comments, preparing draft standards for publications.
