SCOPE

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Audio Visual & Engineering Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all AV equipment. The incumbent is responsible to set-up, operate and troubleshoot the AV equipment, devices and systems and to ensure that the equipment is fully operational as and when needed. He/She is required to perform shift duties and other duties as may be arranged by the Director of Engineering or designate. The incumbent will also assist and guide guests and customers on the proper usage of the equipment.

[What you will be working on]

In addition to your teaching duties, you will carry out industry or consultancy projects to help you remain relevant in your profession and to evolving changes in industry, and maintain strong linkages with industry and schools. You will also have the opportunity to have industry attachments or experience on a regular basis to update your skills, knowledge and practices of your profession.

[What we are looking for]

You should be trained in Engineering or other Engineering-related disciplines, with preferably three years of relevant practical experiences in Mechatronics or Manufacturing industry.

Good knowledge and technical competency in some of the following key area(s) will be an advantage:

• 3D software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, Autodesk’s Inventor or equivalent.

• System integration of sensors for IoT application

• Data Analytics for Predictive Maintenance

• Programming Language (e.g.: Python, C/C++, Arduino, etc.)

• Computer Vision, Robot Operating System

• AR and VR applications

You should be trained in Marine & Offshore Engineering or related disciplines with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in shipyards or sailing experience onboard a foreign going vessel as a marine engineering officer.

You should also possess the following skills:

- Maintenance and operation of all marine mechanical and electrical equipment and their standards.

- Knowledge of marine engine, piping, electrical, electronic, hydraulic system, and control technology.

- Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Other Alternative Fuels - Offshore wind and other renewable solutions.

- Future offshore systems, autonomous vessels, Electrification vessels, Maritime data analytics and Marine robotic.

- Growth mindset in teaching pedagogy and passionate about teaching - Previous experience as an instructor/coach in this trade would be an advantage

Added advantage if you possess in any of the following knowledge or skill sets

• coding knowledge in any of the programming languages, such as, Python, Java, JavaScript, .NET, SQL Server, Ruby, HTML, etc;
• IoT/IIoT system testing and deployment
• 5G System Integration in design, development, and test of 5G prototype systems;
• collaborate with cross-functional teams on the development and deployment of autonomous mobile robots for various industrial applications, such as material handling, inventory management, and logistics.

• Assist BIM Coordinators in creating, updating and revising BIM Models throughtout the project life cycle
• Create and update BIM Models based on contract drawings and latest information
• Ensure integrity/ quality of the models
• Generate documentation and shop drawings for BIM Models
• Produce BIM Model deliverables for Construction, documentation and fabrication
• Develop BIM Models with the correct parameters and attributes for BIM Based quatification and 4D simulation
• Identify issues for BIM Coordinators where discrepancies occur during design stage
